If you find twenty bucks.....

Regardless, you are being a thief.

If he or she saw it happen, as in they saw it fall out of her pocket and you take it, I'd say there's something wrong if they don't question you, because it's blatant stealing. The only difference between that and pickpocketing is that you're not reaching onto her person. You are still taking her money.

-AC

when did I say I SAW her drop the money?

It's irrelevant, you know for a fact it was hers, right? Just as bad then.

If you found it laying on the street randomly, I stand by my stance but at the very least you could argue that the chances of the owner coming to collect are slim, though I'd still turn it in.

In this case you know it is hers, so you should have given it back.

-AC

If I saw a 20 bucks fall out of someone's wallet/pocket/whatever, I'd definetly give it back to them.

However....

If there randomly was 20 bucks lying around, with no one around, I'd take it.

I SUSPECT it was hers. emphasis on WAS. I never even saw her again, she blew some guy in a room and disappeared.

Your story has changed from your first post and when you told me "It was a hooker.".

You seemed sure then.

yes, I suspect it was her because she was the only person in the lobby at that hour. SUSPECT. for all I know, it could've been there all damn day.

As I said, your story has changed.

You asked if we KNEW who it belonged to, would we do it, then told me it WAS a hooker.

KNEW as in SUSPECTED, nothing more.

Like I keep saying, you've gone from knowing to suspecting. From knowing, and telling me it was a hooker. To saying "Well I SUSPECT it MAY have been hers.".

"Knew" and "Suspect" mean two, if anything, opposite things.

Wow, you take this shit seriously. Or are you being sarcastic? 😕

I'm not taking it seriously just because I don't plaster smilies on my posts.

He said something he's now trying to squirm out of, I find it rude.

If it is such a crime, answer this: Could I be arrested for keeping a twenty I find on the ground?

I don't know about where you live but here in the UK there is a law called 'Theft by finding' but it usually only applies to large sums of money - ie you find a bag with £10,000 in it or something.

Over here the legally correct way of keeping it is to hand it in to a police station if it's not reclaimed within a certain time you can keep it.

However if there is no one who witnessed the person drop the money in the first place there is nothing to stop you saying that you dropped it and are simply reclaiming it... 😖hifty:

yeah, so would I... 😗

I don't see why some are on RJ's ass about keeping a twenty. I would trust RJ with my wallet because he is NOT a thief.

It's because they have nothing better to do than ridicule me. and I will be accused of having a victim complex for pointing this out. wanker

By definition and law, he is.

You liking the man doesn't change that. I have nothing personal against him either, he knows this, it is what it is. If you steal, you're a thief. He obviously takes it seriously enough to say shit like "They have nothing better to do than ridicule me.". It'll happen if you act like theft is cool.

I'm not saying the man goes around shoplifting, but he does steal on a regular basis, or used to.

Yeah, I do, because it makes no sense. Which you probably realized when you tried to type up an explanation. Pretty hard to do when something doesn't make sense, ennit?

on a regular basis? tell me, since you have such an extensive dossier on me, what all have I stolen? I want times and locations.
