Stephen doesn't have to die to lose.

Stephen's auto-shields have a spotty track record.

Stephen couldn't even slow down the Hulk.

Current Strange doesn't have a chance in hell against the Big Blue.

Classic Strange, however, does indeed turn him into a rabbit and banishes him to the center of a red sun.
