How would Daredevil get his hand charged up? His hands would be connecting with Gambits face. If that were to keep happening, Gambit wouldnt dare detonate and have his face explode once DD made contact with it again. Secondly, Daredevil has gone against opponents with weapons while hes had nothing and was not touched once. His suit isnt just made up of cloth. It has metal fibers weaved into it for extra padding. True its still not as tough as adamantium, but Gambit isnt strong enough to cause him much damage IF he were to get hits with it and plus its not like Daredevil has to worry about being punctured with it. It wouldnt take much out of him to block Gambit with his forearm at all. And that even if her were to block in the first place. He would most likely parry the staff or even take it away rather than block it. Daredevil used the billy club cause he felt like it, not cause he had to. He could have easily used a portion of his martial arts skills and rendered Gambits arms useless. He chose not to. Just as Gambit chose not to throw a charged card.

Like I said, with the delayed charges all Gambit has to do is wait until he CAN move out of the way. He can also just do small charges that will hurt Daredevil without actually damaging both of them. Yes you're right, in that comic Gambit says that, but I didn't see any effects of the damage on Gambit. Even including that though, it's extremely rare for Gambit to get hurt by his explosions. I've seen him literally in grappling range of people and charging articles of clothing/etc without being hurt. Aside from Daredevil giving Gambit a big hug, I don't how he could get Gambit any closer to the explosion than Gambit has been before and not been hurt.
Daredevil is able to take much punishment. A small charge may not do much at all if applied. In the comic Gambit didnt have any effects of the explosion visually, but by him saying "So thats what that feels like.", lets us know that it did hurt him to a degree. Even after jumping some feet from the charged card. If hes gonna chagre the card/object to do any type of damage to DD, its obvious hed have to clear alot of groud to be safe and i just dont see DD letting that happen.
