Pointless fact: The word Lesbian comes from the name of a Greek (i think it was greek) island in the Mediteranian called Lesbos where the Greeks exiled a large number of lesbians because they were socially unaccepted...and others just went there to be with the other lesbians...and they made their own little city state. As you can imagine, it did not last very long. Maybe the history is a little hazy but Im really not going to go look it up...

No, the island wasn't an exile for lesbians. Lesbianism WAS socially acceptable back then. They named lesbianism after the island, because that is where Sappho wrote poems. Back then, lesbians were called tribades (after the act of tribadism).
