Just keep practising if you do want to get really good at the game. Also, there are tons of site, like Eventhubs and their forums or SRK forums, that give you tips and what not.

I got my ass kicked alot too and even though I can't really play LIVE anymore, I STILL get my fair share of beatings, locally. You have to have patience and let go of the desire to win...for now. Just play the game and continuously challenge the people who stomp you. Your gonna get good after a while. And just like me, you may not be able to smash higher level players yet, but you can still go back an smash the other losers who use to kick your ass when you 1st started playing. Always try to fight on your level or higher. Every loss is a chance to learn.

Me and my buds got 160 fights, we've only won like 60 or 70 of'em, but we stomp all over the dudes who use to beat us before. It's a progressive thing.

That said, I was re-watching the '09 Gamestop Tournament, and Poongko's Ryu was more fun to watch than Daigo's.

True. I love Poongko's offensive style. Problem is he is too offensive and I don't blame him because his execution is off the charts. However IMO his fundamentals are lacking because he is so busy being a relentless assault machine. That is why I believe Wong, Iyo and Daigo schooled him in the gamestop tourney. He kept putting himself in situations that allowed them to capitalize on his mistakes. If he played a bit more patient and actually learned how to study his opponent he might become the #1 player...simply because his execution is amazing.

True. A man who can take such a loss with sportmanship rocks. That said, I hate people who show off or brag.

Haven't even faced a competent Balrog in SSF4 (stuck playing against the CPU right not >__>😉, or even tried him for that matter.
Is he still as good as he was in SF4?

Exactly. Instead of coming up with excuses as to why he lost and P'ed on he simply shrugged and congratulated Inthul. IMHO Sanford would have paraded all over Inthul if he had chosen Sakura. Not because Sakura > Sagat, but because Inthul knew what he was doing against Sagat while Sanford didn't look like he knew wtf was going on. And how could Inthul not know how to fight Sagat when 50% the community mained him. Not to mention I <3 Sanford's Sakura.

Yeah Balrog is pretty much the same as Vanilla, which means he is 1 of the best characters out there with great footsies. While everyone's DP got nerfed he remained the same. In fact I think its even harder to throw him now, but yah

I can find some videos of VvV Scrub using Balrog if you want. Extremely aggressive Boxer with great footsies.

There are other articles too that elicit the lulz. I loved the Halo article.

Yep the Halo article is win.

I too played all SF games, but I was mostly a scrub and theory fighter in all of them. I decided to get better at SF with SF4 and I am still ways to go before I consider myself a tourney caliber player. What little advice I can give you is to practice. Against people who are equal to you and a little bit better. You can also use www.Shoryuken.com for strategies on how to play every single character and learning the fundamentals. Don't worry about losing. Worry about understanding why you lose every single time. There is no point in winning if you learn nothing from said experience. In fact I can give you an example with one of the posters in this forum aka Biscuits. Before I fought him I never attempted to psychic/randomash a DP ever, because I was of the opinion people would always expect it and then punish me. Turns out he whooped me 3 or 4 out of 5 matches(forgot how many Ryu vs Sim matches we had) when I played his sim because his pokes kept beating everything I tried to do which in turn frustrated the **** out of me. Did I let that turn me off? No. Now I play extremely defensive in the beginning of a match and a random DP here and there to keep Sim on his toes. Not to mention I almost always empty jump because Sim's AA normal is so insane. Anyways wall of text, I know, but just keep practicing and don't let douchebags that taunt and mock you get to you. That is all they are: douchebags.

I'm well over the thousand hours of gametime between both games. Hours of frustration, stress, happiness and accomplishment. All those feelings keep on popping up. One day I feel like I play like Daigo's little bother and others like I am the incarnation of a Flowchart Ken, but you know what? Its FKN worth it.

AWESOME! Finally Capcom is gonna finish SF! Hopefully they decide to get off their asses and finish Darkstalkers as well.

yeah, agree with you

dont fully know what this was about but it was interesting

YouTube video

XD

DoublePlinking and Plink throw makes Linking 1frame links easier and shortens the crouch tech to 1 frame window.

I wonder what characters are goin' to be added to the arcade version. Elena and R.Mika FTW!!!! SFIV needs more chix!

I thought it had enough female chars, but hey fine by me. The more the merrier xD

I can't understand you? What did you just post, what language is this?

Edit language. xD

who would they add? Elena?... if they add some of the bison dolls, (which in the case of Juri, would be the perfect time) they best not just be palette swaps

Yo lets do some team battle. Im still on crappy 360 controller and a bit drunk, but hey lets screw some mofos!

Is Cody considered cheap?

Cause when I play him, he feels cheap, winning is far too easy. 😐

Cody isn't cheap at all. Thing is he does a lot of stun and damage, has a lot of frametraps and has a lot of priority on his normals. However he is free on wakeup, so that makes up for it. If he gets pressured he doesn't have many options to get people off him, but a good Cody player will always try to avoid getting pressured and getting knocked down.

Nah, I enjoy fighting cody.. but goddamn those rocks are ridiculous.. especially the ex ones ><

I never see anyone pick up the knife though.. I think its fun to use.. kinda makes me feel like Vega 😮

I use Cody. In fact he is the guy I have the most fun with. His taunt#5 where he takes a nap is 2 times funnier than entire character's movelist. I had a match with a dan, and he was a copetent Dan though I was drunk as hell, and we just kept taunting each other while we punished each other. It was insane. he even did Dan's super taunt and Cody just decided to take a nap while Dan taunted forever rofl.

The reason most players don't pick up the knife is because the opponent is almost always trying to stop you from getting the knife. Which rocks because when you do get it they become afraid of Cody, and I don't blame them.

lol nice.. I played smash brawl drunk.. kept fallin off the stage

drunken street fighter sounds amazing

LoL it does. Even more when the controller decides to make you fail rofl.

It's ridiculous. His sliding kick and dashing punch specials are also irritating.

Just glad his Ultras are kinda weak.

also, I thought i was the only one who discovered the coolness of Cody's nap taunt. His "You suck, man" makes me lmao, too.

Annoying yes. Overpowered? No. That taunt has got to be my favorite taunt in the entire game.
