That said, I was re-watching the '09 Gamestop Tournament, and Poongko's Ryu was more fun to watch than Daigo's.
True. I love Poongko's offensive style. Problem is he is too offensive and I don't blame him because his execution is off the charts. However IMO his fundamentals are lacking because he is so busy being a relentless assault machine. That is why I believe Wong, Iyo and Daigo schooled him in the gamestop tourney. He kept putting himself in situations that allowed them to capitalize on his mistakes. If he played a bit more patient and actually learned how to study his opponent he might become the #1 player...simply because his execution is amazing.

True. A man who can take such a loss with sportmanship rocks. That said, I hate people who show off or brag.
Haven't even faced a competent Balrog in SSF4 (stuck playing against the CPU right not >__>😉, or even tried him for that matter.
Is he still as good as he was in SF4?
Exactly. Instead of coming up with excuses as to why he lost and P'ed on he simply shrugged and congratulated Inthul. IMHO Sanford would have paraded all over Inthul if he had chosen Sakura. Not because Sakura > Sagat, but because Inthul knew what he was doing against Sagat while Sanford didn't look like he knew wtf was going on. And how could Inthul not know how to fight Sagat when 50% the community mained him. Not to mention I <3 Sanford's Sakura.
Yeah Balrog is pretty much the same as Vanilla, which means he is 1 of the best characters out there with great footsies. While everyone's DP got nerfed he remained the same. In fact I think its even harder to throw him now, but yah
I can find some videos of VvV Scrub using Balrog if you want. Extremely aggressive Boxer with great footsies.

There are other articles too that elicit the lulz. I loved the Halo article.

I have played all the Street Fighter games and It was fun playing. In this game I've played six fights online and won 1 round in total. The graphics are absolutely class love the style of it, but doubt seriously that I am going to be putting hardcore hours into this getting battered senseless.
I too played all SF games, but I was mostly a scrub and theory fighter in all of them. I decided to get better at SF with SF4 and I am still ways to go before I consider myself a tourney caliber player. What little advice I can give you is to practice. Against people who are equal to you and a little bit better. You can also use www.Shoryuken.com for strategies on how to play every single character and learning the fundamentals. Don't worry about losing. Worry about understanding why you lose every single time. There is no point in winning if you learn nothing from said experience. In fact I can give you an example with one of the posters in this forum aka Biscuits. Before I fought him I never attempted to psychic/randomash a DP ever, because I was of the opinion people would always expect it and then punish me. Turns out he whooped me 3 or 4 out of 5 matches(forgot how many Ryu vs Sim matches we had) when I played his sim because his pokes kept beating everything I tried to do which in turn frustrated the **** out of me. Did I let that turn me off? No. Now I play extremely defensive in the beginning of a match and a random DP here and there to keep Sim on his toes. Not to mention I almost always empty jump because Sim's AA normal is so insane. Anyways wall of text, I know, but just keep practicing and don't let douchebags that taunt and mock you get to you. That is all they are: douchebags.
I'm well over the thousand hours of gametime between both games. Hours of frustration, stress, happiness and accomplishment. All those feelings keep on popping up. One day I feel like I play like Daigo's little bother and others like I am the incarnation of a Flowchart Ken, but you know what? Its FKN worth it.
