If I get the chance I do that, but jumps against Abel T.Hawk, and Zang are heavily punished. And you're wrong- I do shoryus on reversal almost instinctively, and They CANNOT beat Seth, T.Hawk, Honda Zang OR Abel. Only time the reversal connects is when the other guy reacts slow. Not to mention if you're playing a good player that shoryu/reversal shoryu is getting blocked, and you're getting your ass grabbe.
I am not wrong. It is fact. Both attacks startup at the same time, but DPs beat throws. They always have and they always will. I am not telling you to jump all the time because you're going to get punished for that. However jump every now and then so they realize that if they whiff a throw they are going to get raped. A big part of SF, and fighters in general, is to condition your opponent. Take Ken for an example. I do light punch x 2, and then go for the karathrow. I do it again and again in the first round. Now in the second round you notice they have become aware of your tactic. This is when you mix it up and do light punch x 2 and instead of going for the throw you go for the Dragon Punch. If you conditioned them well they will attempt to tech your throw and you will hit them with a counter hit Heavy Shoryuken. If you do this with 2 bars and cancel the Shoryu into Shinryuken they are in for a world of pain.
You sound like you're getting screwed by reversal command grabs. That is annoying as hell, but you need to be aware of how the player plays. Personally I prefer if the grappler is reversal grab happy because I can bait them into doing them and then punishing them.
Also if you reversal shoryu all the time of course they are going to bait you into going for that reversal DP so they can punish you. It is your own fault. Look at Daigo and how many times he hits his "Ume shoryu" He is the prime example of being unpredictable with his dragon punch.
