and sentry, who said anything about supes being a powerful telepath? i just said it's an option he has and is developing. it's an ability he uses rarely (so far, though his abilities have been said to be the start of the tk abilities the superman dynasty shows) - he is still learning to master it. it IS however, a POSSIBLE option.

Thanos is an energy manipulator as well, and he's at a higher order than the Silver Surfer. Meanwhile, Superman is by no means an energy manipulator. Apple and oranges, Avalon.

Seriously, Supes is a very different beast of late and I suspect is about to get the official upgrade treatment after he gets the shit knocked out of him in Infinite Crisis. He is about to learn a lot more about how his powers work.
