Hell...I admit I fly my rebel flags proudly..at home and on my truck. Things are different in the South. I was raised in Georgia...and the part of the state that I lived in...not many black people lived in the vicinity. I was raised to call black people "niggers"....because that's what they were always known as in my part of the country. I still use that term to this day.

The problem with many white Southerners is that education does not always remove something that has been so ingrained in them for generations. If I'm in town...and I see some black guy with pants hangin' down his ass...in his lowrider...with those loud speakers playin' hip hop or rap music...yeah...i think.."******". I can't help it...it's all I've known all of my life. I even have a tremendous amount of college education...yet, being exposed to various cultures in college has not removed these ideas from my mind....and the same can be said for many other good ol boys in the South.

Also, I wouldn't label myself as a big racist...I don't condone slavery...and I think black people should have the same opportunities as any one else...yet, I believe in being separate...in terms of marriage. Hell, my family would disown me if I brought one home..lol.

I'm just being honest...people may hate me for saying this...but unless you've grown up in the deep south...and I don't mean the urban south...I'm talkin' about out in the country...backwoods south...like I have...then you will not understand my perspective.

All the people I've ever known growin' up shared pretty much the same view I do....it's how they were all raised. I don't know how it is in South Carolina...I thought it would be pretty much the same way as it is in Georgia. I am sure that there are many many people in S.C. that share my view though. I'm in Louisiana now...and I've come across a lot of daddies that would literally shoot a black man if he started messin' around with his daughter. So, inter-racial relationships aren't readily accepted here either...although it isn't nearly as bad here as it was in Georgia.
