Apparently its made up, my friend has never heard of it before.
He´s 50 odd years old, a proud Romany gypsy, most of his family still live in caravans and do things the gypsy way and they have a strong sense of tradition, so a very reliable source.
It was a good idea though, maybe theres some background in other cultures as these sort of ideas normally have some background.

My presence as a member of this forum initiated the interaction, simply by virtue of the fact that I'm a member here and the only semblance of a life you can find for yourself is to harass people on an internet forum because you think it's unfair that they aren't miserable in life, like you.
What does it matter if he or myself are on here in invisible mode? You think it's some measure of cowardice, but what does that say about a lonely middle aged man that has 15 accounts on an internet forum where the average age is likely 16?
I have never understood why you pity us so much because we interact on the internet, when it seems your entire life in on the net concerning yourself with my sex life.

and yes, folklore such as this usually comes from other cultures, so one can never be too sure. perhaps the topic should remain open just in case anyone has info from other cultures which may or may not have had such beliefs on the medicinal purposes of gypsy tears.
