Its a story of Batman hype. Back in 1989 the first Batman movie by Tim Burton was gaining much hype but with the annoching of Micheal Keaton as Batman the fans got pissed there were burnings in towns and thousands were going to boycott the movie in protest. But Warner Bros rushed a trailer that started the hype machine going and thus what came about in 1989 was Bat mania you could go no where in the world without seeing a referance to Batman. And it is said that even TDK hype did not surpasss this rare occasion for Bat fans but imo it did from what I have seen.

The turnout was immense for my screnning of TDK people came dressed up and all and I came in my Heath Ledger Joker t-shirt.

They should it would have been a sight. Me and my mate tried to get the dudes dressed up as Batman and Joker to have a fight while we were waiting in a que that streched out near the cinema entrance.
