Because you are assuming Thanos can do something that Death can do simply because he's dead and was standing next to her. If that's the case, I can assume that since Warlock can make himself more powerful when coming out of hibernation before, he is far more powerful than he used to be now.

He was beneath Thanos but hardly nothing compared to him. And just to make it clear, I'm not arguing that Warlock could beat Thanos. Just arguing against determining his power level simply based on 3 scans.
