I agree. The Zod thing is a huge mess. Thing is that I like this newly fleshed out Zod far more than all the others. The part that sucks is all the other Zod's that ran around beforehand.

Even retconning will be difficult.... Most of Supermans storylines link with other storylines.

In all honesty, Stalin has a mixed legacy in Russia, just like Chairman Mao in China. Both would be hated and condemned for all the oppression and death that occured, yet also earn praise from their people, for turning their nations into world powers that would never be invaded or dominated by outsiders again. By contrast, Hitler is a black stain on the honour of Germany for decades more to come. Stalin wasn't bad enough not to be accepted as an ally by Churchill and Roosevelt (his army WAS doing the majority of the fighting.) And Mao was accpeted as an ally by Nixon in the 1970's, in a bid for triangular diplomacy towards Russia.

Didn't Supes have a bitching fight with Russian Zod, and Zod promptly killed himself at the end? IMO, that's the best you can expect from a character like that. The new Zod is pretty sick. Screw the others. 😛

They need to showcase kryptonian tech more. Up, Up and Away set the bar pretty high with Dru-Zod's warship.

yeah but here is the thing...for tomorrow Zod was erally pissed at superman for turning a part of the phantom zone into a paradise...and he was an old guy with a beard....which begs the question WTF? since there is no time in ther Pzone, how could he have gotten older, but anyhoo he was all monologuing about how jor-el ruined his life and blah blah and sent him ther and how he swore revenge...and if you remember this was when max lord was looking for a viable way to make ppl superhuman, and after they created that preacher guy who had cancer they decided to abandon the project and go with the Omacs, so how in the f **** are they gonna retcon something that's so close in continuity? its not like this was yearrrrs ago thiis was late 2005. so if this is all a true retcon it was handled very bullshittedly

God Damn - DC has been trying to get this right for 23 years now, since the original COIE.
I was at the bookstore last month, leafing through Waid & Yu's Superman: Birthright. I considered buying it, as it was the revison of Superman since John Byrne's The Man Of Steel. But then I remembered how IC wiped out that origin, and yet another origin for Supes is coming. 🙄 Makes you want to sit out DC titles for years at a time, until the editors & publishers can make up their mind.
