FINAL CRISIS coming next year?
God Damn - DC has been trying to get this right for 23 years now, since the original COIE.
I was at the bookstore last month, leafing through Waid & Yu's Superman: Birthright. I considered buying it, as it was the revison of Superman since John Byrne's The Man Of Steel. But then I remembered how IC wiped out that origin, and yet another origin for Supes is coming. 🙄 Makes you want to sit out DC titles for years at a time, until the editors & publishers can make up their mind.

That's one of the things that makes it hard for people new to DC to pick up a comic book and get involved.

I find it hard to follow Marvel when the pheonix went from jean, to an entity, to the white crown. When black bolt is now a skrull and Preretconned beings are more powerful than beings who actually exist with in the comics world.

Co-signed on that, Marvel's continuity was decent until this recent Skrull event, now continuity will be in question until late 2008 when the Skrull invasion is done. I'm not a big fan of retcons.

At least it cleared up the Hulk vs. Black Bolt nonsense

But since lots of BB's feats also are now from the Skrull it doesn't really change much 😬

That's the only plus so far. I'm still waiting on Strange being revealed as a Skrull.

I don't know how reliable Wiki is, but it say there are 4 crisises. IMO, Identity Crisis is technically part of Infinite Crisis.

The good thing about DC's large overarching storylines and huge continuity, is it's a very rich and involved tapestry. You get the sense of being part of something bigger. 😎

That's one of the most badass looking things to ever come out of the DCU.

MOS rocked because it portrayed Superman at his (arguably) most realistic.

Then Birthright came with it's bullshitty smallville tie-in and steam-rolled the awesomeness of Byrne.

Yeah Last Issue of Illuminati revealed it.

Anyone hoping the next issue of Superman Confidential in which Superman faces Orion is more than a draw to keep fans happy like in "Death of New Gods 2"?
