Michael Turner draws a great looking Surfer, on the cover. But how does this jibe with the recent events of SS: Requiem?
It's not canon at all, then?
Requiem was in the vein of "The End" stories - non canon.
There is no indication of whether this one is canon or not, to my knowledge, but I believe that usually means it IS - though I could be wrong.
It kinda looks to me like one of those books where if it's canon or not really doesn't make a difference- I doubt he's going to be running into any old friends or affecting the Universe or anything like that. I see it as a kinda self contained look at the concept.
Oh, and I love it when they write the Silver Surfer as Marvel's answer to Jesus. It's always fun to read Messainic Surfer. Art's amazing.
Art = Great. Not Phil Jimenez great, but still great.
I actually like the beginning, where it gives us a very real sense of Surfer's conflict of "why do I have morality?" On such a cosmic scale, cruelty and violence become just another necessary part of creation....and an altruistic being becomes almost artitrary by comparison.
Otherwise, meh, but I'll stay for the art.
