Hey, my vote doesn't matter at this point. Not in the least. I'm just playing devil's advocate.
But I don't think 'easy counter' is sufficient to knock someone down from above the caps. For example, someone who can manipulate electricity on a universal level - but are useless if wet - have a pretty RIDICULOUSLY easy counter, but would still be above the caps.
I'm just trying to keep the conversations going, to be honest. Like I said, a little bit of devil's advocate while no one else is posting. Give the people that read that much more to think about.
Jotaro may have Star Platinum, but he's only human. Human frailities, human need to breath, human durability, human intellect.
He's not bulletproof, he has no precog, and if his stand gets hurt or take a shot to the head, heart, for example, he's dead. Hell, if he takes a shot to the head or the heart, his stand goes with him.
Star Platinum's abilities are dependent on his physical condition. A moderately good speedster can take him out if they cut his throat.

Star Platinum is Jotaro's only weapon. And Strange DOES have pre-cog. In addition to auto-shields, etc, etc, etc. 😛
Star Platinum's range is only about 1 meter, maybe 1.5 at the outset. He can't stop say, a machine gun.

Jotaro has been seen:
Catching a bullet 2 fired about 2 inches from his skull.
Punching through thick walls of Diamond hard substances.
The manga specifically states that stands can't be destroyed by physical damage.
They're also completely invisible to anyone who doesn't have a stand.
He shouldn't be here.

Stands are sustained by concentration and willpower. A sonic attack, or a distraction, a gas attack, there are plenty of ways to kill the user without fighting the stand. And if you can see ghosts, I assume you can see stands.
