The official "What's this Movie?" thread!

Hey guys,

A couple of years ago I saw a movie about a child (around 12-13, male) growing up in the 70's or 80's with a very strict father. I can only remember a few scenes...
The father could be an alcoholic, often wears a wifebeater and has weird "Popeye" elbows. There's one scene where the kid sit at the kitchen table while the father stands next to the fridge drinking a bear (theyre talking about his lack of performance in school i think).
There's another scene where the boy comes home only to find all his vinyls smashed (i think he cherished his record collection a lot)... Apparently the father got in a fight with his mother and threw the LP's at her.
The whole movie is set in the suburbs in some hot climate.

Anyone got a clue what this movie could be? It looked like it came out somewhere in the mid 90's. I can't remember any actors, sorry...

I can't remember what this comedy movie was called I watched and it was about these high school people or college people and they stole the anwsers for the tests they have to take and there is this asian dude who smokes pot in it. Its pretty recent, 2000+. Anyone know the name?

There are two movies I remember from when I was younger but I can't recall the titles. Perhaps someone could help me out.

The first one is based on a space station orbiting earth. The story revolves around a fight league in which aliens face off against other aliens, and at one point humans. However, humans couldnt put forth a viable contender until now...... So basically the movie is about a human fighting his way to the top of some strange alien fighting league.

The second one, from what I can recall, seemed kind of like a take on Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Except it revolves around a young boy who one night is awakened in his sleep by flashing lights and strange noises emanating from outside. He then checks his parents room, and low and behold, they're aliens. The movie (from what I can remember) begins and ends this way. I also remember some strange climatic battle taking place underground. Also I remember scenes in which the boy realizes many of the teachers and other students are also aliens.

The first movie is Arena made in 1988 and the second movie is Invaders from Mars, there are two of these one made in 1953 and the other in 1986.

As to the movie Private Lessons Another Story Part 2 Sound Track, the singer is Nicole J McCloud. THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE IT WAS A LONG TIME AGO AND I NEVER SAW THE MOVIE. I ALSO HAD A DANCE PART IN THIS MOVIE IM IN A WILD CAT OUT FIT.(LOL) All the best to you

Theres a scene when two black guys are in an empty stadium, one of them eating a lollipop holding a rocket launcher. Then he asks the other to hold the lolipop while he shoots his rocket..

Okay, I've been looking for this forever. I remember seeing a movie in the mid-90s, on TV, about an apartment building that, following a major earthquake, sinks straight into the ground, and a bunch of rescue workers have to enter the building from the roof and work their way down to find survivors.

Help me find the name of this movie. It's fairly recent. It's about a big city cop that moves to a small town. It's a comedy. I just don't remember the name.

hi all, this has been really buggin me lately! its a film thats about families of wiccans i think, magic is involved in some form anyway, and its about some families of these magic people who years before the film is set cast out another family of these magic people and then when the film is set the young people of the families are being killed off. i think thats accurate anyway! hope ya can help cos its annoyin me soooo much! cheers

It's actually pretty terrible. It's like one long supernatural Ambercrombie & Fitch commercial.

Well I was sitting here tonight, looking for some new movies to see. For some reason a movie popped into my head and I don't really remember much about it. I was probably 4 or 5 years old at the time, I am 21 now. I really don't have much for you guys to go on but here goes.

-I remember one particular scene very clearly. 1 maybe 2 girls were riding on bicycles in a mall or warehouse sort of place wearing gas masks. They may or may not have been naked.

-Another scene, there was a boy who was being led around a doll house by a 'doll', was a girl dressed as one.

There is not much else I can recall about this particular film. I can say that it was horror, and scared the bejesus out of me i remember. It was in our old movie section when i was 4 or 5 so, I'm guessing it came out around 1970's - 80's. It was pretty obscure and weird, probably a horrible movie.

Thanks for any help you all can offer. Sometimes i recall very old memories of movies and go back and watch em for fun now that I am older and can understand them.

i watched this movie a few years ago.. it never came out in theatres or anything. a man went into the hospital to have some routine procedure, and they get him mixed up with someone else. the whole movie is him stuck in this hospital with some wing of it that's either haunted or something else bad. the nurse in the movie has a huge tattoo of a tree on her back, and at the end of the movie, you find out that the guy was in a coma the whole time, and the only way for all the bad stuff that's happening to him to stop is if he dies in his comatose world, making him die in life too. it was pretty nuts. anyone have any clue what i'm talking about?

These guys drive up in a car (convertible) , appears to be a beach, ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed man" begins to play in the background, 2 police officers approach the car. One is weilding a shotgun and one has a .38 pistol. They apparoach the car cautiously and ask for something, one of the guys in the car trys to pull out an uzi or something and the driver grabs his wrist, both cops open fire on the car..what movie was this?

Hi, I made this thread to ask you guys about a movie that I've watched somewhere in 2001-2002. I was looking forward to watching that movie again, but obviously I had forgotten the name. Luckily, I managed to remember couple scenes from the movie which might help you guys figure out which movie I am talking about.

1. There is a guy and hes the main character.
2. The guy I think is an astronaut because his job in the movie was to pilot a rocket
3. The guy's company also designed this cyber world that this little girl is in.
4. She is like a computer.
5. The guy managed to go into the girl's world to talk to her about her problems. (Like the Matrix)
6. The girl eventually liked the guy and digitally grew herself to his age so they can be a couple.
7. Jealousy grew stronger in the girl, so she tried to bomb the guy's wife's house.

Alright, that is all I remember. If anyone can manage to find me the name of the movie I am talking about, it would be a big thanks.
