The official "What's this Movie?" thread!

The movie I'm looking for starts off with a boy on a bike. He's riding around and ends up hitting a ramp that leads him into an animated world (like Who Framed R. Rabbit). In this animated world he can only travel through books. I remember him opening the book "Jack and the Bean Stalk" while in a pit somewhere. With him are three animated flying books with wands, Each one with its own unique personality (Pirate, Pink/Smart, Dumb).

I know this sounds like a crazy movie, but I've been having an urge to see it and I just can't find the name of it.

Setting was in the desert (sonoran/arizona I think). It had to do with a race of demons, human-sized, with bat-like wings and horns. Looked kind of like the demon guy in Legend. They get to come out once every 2,000 years or something to challenge the human race, and are gestating regenerating their numbers in between in this massive cavern. I can't remember if there were some sort of biblical allusions to fallen angels or something. Any how, some people stumble upon them and must defeat them before their time to be released comes again. Anybody remember? Definitely B-rated. Early to mid-80's I think.

Check out the movie "Gargoyles" it was made in 1972 but that sounds like it might be it.

I hate to do it this way (cuz it ruins the ending) but I've checked IMDB and googled various phrases and cannot seem to find the movie I am after. And of course, I only know the ending.
The plot goes kinda like: A monk and a woman fall in love but because he's a monk he cannot marry or be with her so to be with him she disguises herself as a monk, shaving her head and donning red and orange robes. Alas the only scene I can reply in my head (very vividly) is the end scene where they have been found out and are brought forth to be executed together. They sit them both on their knees facing each other and place ornate flowers in between both of their hands, the executioner (with a big katana(sword)) lops off their heads one at a time and a bloody flower goes flying.

I would love to show this movie to my fiance, but I need to know what it is first!

I remember a movie I watched many years ago. Can you help me find it?

What I remember (may be incorrect):

In the movie, a boy and a girl comes from space in a flying saucer. They have some special powers like telekinesis. With their minds, they throw things around. Maybe they were fighting each other, I cannot remember.

The name of the movie was the boy's name, but it was also an abbreviation, like G.E.O.R.G.E but another name. On the cover of the VHS, the boy was seen inside a capsule.

I'm hoping someone can help me although i feel its a long shot. I remember watching this movie when i was a child with my sister and parts of it have always stuck in my brain. I think it was out late 80's early 90's.

All i really remember about it is it starts with a scary guy floating through the streets at midnight and looking for children that have not fell asleep. When he finds them he turns them into mice. I'm pretty sure it starts of as a movie then changes into animation. I know what i can remember is pretty vague and won't be surprised if noone can point me in the direction but any help would be great.

I was wonder if anyone knows the name of this movie..

All i remember is it in the "Peggy Sue Style" 50's/60's feel.. I remember early on in the movie she hops in a what i think from memory is a 50's red chevy that her boyfriend picks her up in and i think they may have been arguing but they end on crashing through a barrier on a bridge and into the water, then now i cant remember exactly "been a while" but i think she comes back as a spirit/ghost....

Hi. Need to know the name of this movie. It takes place in Canada/Nova Scotia. It involves a local girl that lives in the woods with her crazy mother that falls in love with a boy. the mother tries to kill the boy with her daughter. Apparently its a family tradition. any ideas?

Does anyone recognize the name of a martial arts movie via the following info? I want to locate a copy to watch it again.

I saw this movie in the late 1980s, so it pre-dates at least 1989. The lead hero was an exceptionally charismatic "Yul Brynner" looking guy (also code for "bald" <g!>😉. The plot involved a village being bullied. The hero "Yul Brynner" looking character journeys to the local temple to ask the master there to teach him kung fu to give him the means to defend his village.

Supposedly, the code of the temple does not permit the master to teach this "outsider", but the master is wise and strings the hero along by having him do maintenance work on the temple, which is in actuality teaching the hero the fundamentals of kung fu via the various tasks the master asks the hero to do.

There is a whole range of tasks the master puts the hero through. One hopefully particularly recognizable task that might help identify the movie is that the hero is asked to work on the walls of the temple which requires the hero to build, and work on bamboo scaffolding. The movements the hero learns manipulating the bamboo and move deftly around on the bambo actually developes a particularly unique kung fu. The hero however, does not recognize this, and after doing everything the master asks of him and still thinking he has gotten nothing from the master in return, the hero returns to the village feeling defeated and let down. The bullies return to the village and when the hero has his back to the wall, so to speak, his newly developed skills emerge as instinct and he triumphs over the bullies to the praise of his village.

Any help anyone can provide to identify this movie is greatly appreciated. I do not know why this movie made such a lasting impression on me, now more then 18 years later, but it did, and I would like to track it down and watch it again.

I am trying to figure out the name of a movie I watched a few years back. It was a "classic" from the the 70's sometime. The main story line was this. A government office, FBI, CIA, ATF, etc..., hires a famous, or well known race car driver, who drives on dirt tracks to drive for them while the try to catch men running whiskey in the mountains, as none of government men can keep up with the runners. They give him a supped up car and the chase is on!! I thought the star (race car driver) was Beau Bridges but after a thurough search I found it not so. This movie runs in the group of WW and the Dixie Dance Kings and Gator, only no Burt Reynolds. Any ideas anyone? Also any recommendations of movies of this type from the mid 70's back would be greatly appreciated, so I can watch them too!

I believe it starred Beau Bridges or someone who looks like Beau Bridges with a light beard who plays the role of an art teacher who draws nudes. He has a female student who poses for him and also sleeps with him. Meanwhile his wife is cheating on him with one of his male students.

Interesting note, I remember a scene in a car where Bridges' character and his male student are driving down a road and that trashy song by Khia 'My neck my back' song is playing and the kid goes to turn it off and he says leave it, I like it.

I'm almost positive it's Beau Bridges but every time I try to look it up on IMBD I come up with nothing.

Any thoughts?

I think the whole plot was about getting the lead actress safely across the boarder to the neighboring country, but the boarder guard and government won't let her. So the movie ends with the main actor carrying her and making a mad dash across the boarder ( i think the ran about 50 feet), while being shot in the back multiple times by guards in the tower. However, as he makes it across, the guards from the country they are fleeing to starts shooting the enemy. The main actor dies at the end.

It's not a recent movie, but i would love to know the name of it since it's been bothering me since my childhood.

Hi, there's this one movie that I remember from a while back but can't find any information on it. I remember that some wierd pig men come into some town and turn people to stone, but are destroyed by milk (possibly chocolate). The only other thing I can remember is where one guy has a showdown with the leading pig (who is resistant to the milk) and somehow wins. Sorry for being so vague, but this has been bugging me for a while. Thanks in advance!
