and now a sequel has been greenlit

I really like the mini flash backs for some of the characters, so the character development was pretty good.

This movie could have been great if it wasn't for the bad humor and BS action. I wish it was more realistic.

Still better than Wolverine and the so called awesome sound track? it sucks!

As for better than TF2? I enjoyed TF 2 better but however we cannot compare a first movie to a sequel because the 2 films have already have the plot done and its a lot more action.

I still like TF 1 better than this.

Its not a bad movie 7.5/10

Oh, yeah the Joes acting sucked balls.

No offense, but if you think Star Trek was worse than any of those movies, you clearly just want retard action scene after retard action scene with little or no attention to story, acting or pacing.
Sounds exactly like tranformers 2 fanwankers.

Bad Humor? Again it boils down to opinion, IMO the humor in GI JOE was funny and not forced, TF2 had the shitty humor
and the GI JOE soundtrack IMO is the best one out of the 4 that i mentioned before.
Watching GI JOE reminded me of watching the first transformers movie, it was a fun ride and entertaining, but i will have to go that GI JOE was slightly better than TF and leaps and bounds better than TF2 IMO.

It was a decent summer popcorn flick. You need to be able to turn your mind off and just enjoy some action without thinking about how dumb most of it is. If you can manage that its enjoyable but certainly not a quality movie.

See, I didnt like the dumb action with those stupid accelerators and so so CGI. I like the story, the direction, the plot twist, the flash backs a lot better and of course Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow. Oh and the Baroness is damn hot! compared to the CGI and over hyped Fox in TF2.

Also I didn't like seeing Brendan, he got caught at some time saying this(not in movie).

"he'd like to think his character is a descendant of Rick O'Connell, Fraser's character in Sommers' The Mummy film series".

I know the director did the Mummy, but can't we leave it out of this movie....like have no small connection what so ever.

at least they didn't actually say his name was the same or similar to his character in the Mummy.
Stephen sommers has always put a familiar face in all of his movies
like Kevin J. O'Connor he was Dr. mindbender and he was in other sommers movies.

and Transformers 2 was OK but nothing compared to the first score and the movie sucked, so i am not interested in it that much any more.

So you stop listening to a score because the film was rubbish? I thought Transformers was nothing special, but the score is amazing and keep listening to it.

As for GI Joe, Alan Silvestri has not made a memorable score for years from what I've heard. Older scores were excellent. Must check out GI Joe.

The TF2 score was better than the movie, but i won't listen to it that much because the movie sucked, why would i want to picture what is going on in a crappy movie while i'm listening to the music. when i download a decent copy of the TF2 movie then edit it accordingly i might go back to listening to the score. FYI i did a trial edit of a shitty version an was able to cut an hour of crap out of the movie.

I agree with you about Alan Silvestri he hasn't made a good score for years, Van Helsing was borderline, the last good one was probably eraser and long kiss good knight. and before that, forrest gump, judge dredd, predator 2, the abyss and predator.
For me GI JOE is right beside predator, it was a very good score IMO
What do you think was his last good one and what is his best?

I kept wishing he'd get all Adebisi and start shanking and raping the Joes. Something to distract from the horrific dialogue and acting, when shit wasn't blowing up.

Hahaha, I wanted that too. I wanted him to be more badass.

both Fraser and Kevin J. O'Connor did this as a favor to Stephen Sommers which I liked

But a cameo IMO is someone legdendary and experienced. So like when you see Arnold in Terminator Salvation or Samuel Jackson in Iron Man it means something.

What have Vosloo and Frasier done outside of the Mummy franchise to warrant such attention?

Yes, I understand it was a director's favor.

Well when I listen to scores, I'm not picturing what happened in the actual film the score music is from. So I don't have that problem.

What do you think was his last good one and what is his best?

Out of the ones I have heard, my favourites are the Predator film scores, and The Abyss. Out of everything else I've heard, nothing has been as memorable. He isn't one of my favourites.

Cameo's can by anything from one second to 5 minutes, also it does not have some legendary actor or actress doing the cameo

You know it wasn't Arnie in Terminator Salvation right, it was just his face computer generated.

I for one got excited because it was Flint and Dr. Mindbender. Didnt care who was playing them.

Still, it was sweet!

I honestly think we need a better phrase than "Turn off your mind.".

That's not defense of a film, that's essentially saying "Become a bit of an easily impressed retard for two hours and it'll seem good.".

You are a Wolverine fanboy, though, and anyone knows that Wolverine fanboys are not human. They're just a step above pondlife. Not sentient and thus not really capable of having a valid opinion.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up when the music played and you saw the arnie like terminator.

Just because someone says to turn off your brain to watch the show doesn't mean it's bad or the person has to be stupid to enjoy it. It just means that you have to suspend disbeilef for a while cause some of the stunts and other things are over the top. Look at Shoot em' up, that movie was alot of fun but you had to shut your brain off to watch it.
This also greatly depends on how the movie is directed or edited together. Case in point Charlies angels, was a pile of sh1t as i was unable to shut my brain off to enjoy the show cause it was just stupid.
