Just a question but what did you think about the balls of fury movie?

obviously wayans was funny but not over the top as i was worried he would be.
TFs2 atleast had Sam's parents who are hilarious at times(mother in particular) and a few other things which I've forgotten because it's been 2 months since I saw it. But that film was geared towards an older audience than G.I. Joe. Star Trek had good humor.

I agree with you that star trek had good humor but IMO Sam's mother was not funny, she was annoying as all hell every time she was on screen. I think GI JOE and transformers were geared towards the same audience, kids and adults alike, but the humor in joe was much more sutible for kids than transformers for sure.

While I understand where your coming from with the District 9 point, I can't say I agree. It does matter solely because the movie was marketed as an mindless action/superhero film. This genre is cemented by CGI. Iron Man and the Spiderman had this. G.I. Joe looked like The Incrdeible Hulk did. Those both films looked cartoony. Just watch the fight scene with Abomination at the end and tell me with a straight face the CGI was legit. The helicopter and buildings were all fake. Transformers atleast looks real when the they're crushing the ground as they run or when Optimus and Bonecrusher fell off the highway in the first film.
Watch the spiderman movies again. You'll be amazed at how fake some of the CGI looks. but I get your point too. I guess the makers focused on quanitity over quality when it came to effects (they are, after all trying to please pre teens)
That's what I'm talking about right there. That scene and many others.
TFs2 was like a load of shit piled up and some of it came out good while most was bad.
Star Trek was an all-around great adventure film. By far the most entertaining summer blockbuster of 2009 I've seen yet. It will most likely be awhile before I see District 9 because of my age unfortunately. And Watchmen doesn't exactly count as a summer film seeing how it was released in March.

Ah, your 16 well then i can let it go that you think transformers had better humor than GI JOE, as you just said that most of the transformers humor was bad. i am 36 and i felt that the only funny stuff in transformers were a couple of lines from the twins and Sam's dad at the college. That was about it for me.
For me Star Trek was great and the humor was spot on, and GI JOE was just slightly better, for entertainment value, but only slightly, next would be terminator salvation and wolverine and waaaay at the bottom is transformers 2

You're 36, have terrible spelling and you find Marlon Wayans funny.
That doesn't deserve to be let go. If you're bringing up age, there are a lot of things about your posts that you should know better than to do.
G.I. Joe sucked, but you liked it. That's the subjectivity of it. Accept this, because your insistence that it was objectively good (Seemingly) is perplexing.

Ok, yes i am 36 and my spelling does suck, but i don't care. You brought up your age first. I was very worried when i heard that Marlon Wayans was going to be in this movie, cause i am not fussy for his over the top humor like in Scary Movie 1 and 2, but he pulled it off nicely in GI JOE.
IMO Transformers is not geared more towards people your age, since you weren't even around for the 80's! , but it was meant to bring in the old fans and some new ones, I did enjoy the humor in the first transformers movie, but this one they went too far with the stupid toilet humor, that i would find funny if it was in an austin powers movie. GI JOE had none of that humor and i would take kids to gi joe before transformers, cause transformers was terrible with annoying yammering characters. IMO 😄

I disagree. Bay's Transformers series IS geared towards people my age. That's why there's Megan Fox, th cars, and the pot/sex jokes. It may have been started in the 80's but if it's so geared to the hardcore fans of the cartoons then why does it piss so many of them off?
You're right 30 year olds don't like Megan Fox (which looked better in the first movie) and they don't like cars and pot/sex jokes. LMAO
I loved the cars, and was highly entertained by Harold and Kumar
It's just that there is a time and place for those jokes and Transformers 2 was not one of them. IMO
I was a fan of the 80's cartoon, but if i watch it now it's pretty crappy.
I loved the first transformers movie, but the 2nd not so much.
Originally posted by darthmaul1I detect your sarcasm. I never said people outside of the aimed audience could not like the film under law. I just said IMO that's who the series is aimed at. G.I. Joe was obviously aimed at a younger audience due to the toned down and cliched humor.

My point is that I had a good time watching TFs2. Though it's far from a good film. I'd label it as okay. To me the first and second are floating in the same ballpark although the first had the mystique of seeing them onscreen for the first time.

Well I meant seeing giant transforming robots onscreen for the first time. With the Joes, I can attest to seeing similar.
We've seen the ninjas and elite military groups before. We've seen Bond, xXx, and Star Wars PT before.
As of 2007 we hadn't seen robots of those quality and size onscreen able to move like that. That to me was cool. Just like Iron Man was. We'd never seen a suit that looked real and could fly with jets before.

True and i agree with you, it was still neat to see some of the characters that i remember come to life, like snake eyes and storm shadow and destro, all the rest i couldn't even remember their names.
Snake Eyes was completely spectacular. The best thing about the film for me. But we've seen similar to his character. We've seen Batman, Ozymandias, Darth Maul, Jason Bourne, etc. His fight scenes to me weren't particularly stunning. They certainly weren't as well done as the fantasy style of Watchmen or the more realistic style of the Bourne films.

Star Trek had so many ploholes and PIS that it was stupid.
I still gave it like....a 7 out of 10 or something.
I should rate it much lower beacuse of it's ultra stupidity.

PIS? what is that?
I really enjoyed star trek but you are right there were plot holes in it.
Some of the ones i found,
what was nero doing for 25 years while he waited for spock to go through the time vortex?
If the red matter is so powerful can't you just stick it in orbit and suck the planet in like that, instead of drilling hole?
The transwarp beaming, never heard of that before.
what do you have Dadudemon?
PIS stands for Plot Induced Stupidity.
There are plot holes in every film. Some just have more or less than others. Star Trek didn't require you to have been a huge trekkie to understand it. All of the characters and actors portrayals were great IMO. It was a great time. Loads better than Wolverine, TFs2, or G.I. Joe.
