I.m.o this movie was slightly better than Transformers 2...but i thought both were bad. The flashbacks were horrible..it broke the momentum of the film.i felt like alot of the acting was just bad....bland and uninspiring. the action at times was great...but i almost left the theater when those stupid suits were being used......i guess its somewhat entertaining...some of the action scenes were really done well, but it does nothing to improve my viewing pleasure.
If you want science then go read a science book or watch a documentary.
If you dislike things butchering science, one must assume you dislike a LOT of fiction.

IMO, the flash backs were good and needed. the acting was ok, definatly better than transformers 2, but this is an action flick who cares about the acting, it's not as if it was totally craptacular. and the suits were a lot of fun, and entertaining and not as dumb as what i had intiallly thought.
You're in your 30s (Didn't you say?) and you're still impressed enough by things that go bang to argue about it?
Plot matters to people who have grown to not be impressed by such things alone.

My point is, it's GI JOE what more of a friggin plot can you do or expect than world domination? It is just like a bond movie! I was not impressed by TF2 and that had a sh1t load more stuff that goes bang and the way that was put together sucked and as a result it was just mind numbing watching it. It all depends how it is put together and presented on screen and IMO GI JOE did that very well.
I finally saw this, it was pretty cool. The entire plot of the movie played like four kids in a sandbox playing with their action figures. I give this movie props for taking a break from a goddamn space battle and taking it underwater, nature's other deep space. This time there's sound! Snakey-Peeps and Storm-Chato were pretty cool, felt like they were the main people in the movie. I was also surprised when Cobra Goin-Commando came out, I was like: "Haha, French Stewert's little brother!" Whatever the f*ck his name was in Third Rock. So I enjoyed it, longest toy commercial ever. I'm still surprised people are expecting good acting in these sorts of movie, like G.I. Joe will ever win an Oscar. Heh.

Heheh, i just saw this movie yesterday . I ve been catching up with these summer movies lately the past few nights, usually the 10 pm showings.
GI joe was entertaining, and although i never really watched to much of the cartoon, i always liked Snake eyes.😮💨 So the whole GI joe mythology is kinda foggy in my mind, so anything this movie presented i just ran with it. The action was really intense and sorta tedious at times. For some reason i walked out of the theatre with a throbbing headache. There was just so much damn camera movements and jitteryness my eyes couldnt follow as fast. Indeed it was like some full length feature , inspired by some little boy fantasy playing with his joes in a sandbox lol.. other then that cant say much more about the film.
But i will say this, for some damn reason the stand out character in my mind, even more then snake eyes, was cobra commander. He was just a cool villain , and im sure he will shine even more in the sequel. Alot of this probably has to do with the actor Joseph Gordon Levitt. Originally i thought he was an odd choice for cobra commander. Kinda like the skepticism i had when they cast Heath Ledger as the joker. But after seeing both of their performances, theirs is an acting prowess ive come to admire. And for the record , yes i do think there is a resemblance between the two. And not just looks, but even the mannerisms . It came off so strong, the whole method acting thing, which i respect. So id keep an eye on that actor, definitely a rising star, who takes his craft serious like Brando or Dean.

I finally saw this tonight. The movie was cheese-tastic, but I have to admit, in all honesty, it was a fun movie.
The only two things that pissed me off was the anti-climatic end duel with Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, and the
Spoiler:. I mean, c'mon.
sinking ice
Yeah.
Spoiler:
Is Stormshadow dead? I doubt it, since he's kinda important and he may be needed in any sequels, but I just don't know anymore with movies nowadays.

I was thinking the same thing when i saw the ice sinking, but i went to see it again with my wife and i noticed that for the most part that the ice that was sinking had machinery or bits of the base on it. so therefore it would sink.
