I don't think Jack had the commitment that Heath has for playing the character...It seems to me Jack just wanted the money, whereas Heath secluded himself in a hotel for a month to prepare for the role. I could be wrong about Jack, but Heath is VERY VERY dedicated.

If I recall, he said he was angry over the fact that he wasn't approached to play the Joker in this sequel; in an MTV interview, I think. Well, there are a number of things to consider with this statement. 1) I'm fairly certain he was joking when he said he was upset he hadn't been approached. 2) He's too old and fat to play the Joker...he really kind of was when the first movie was being filmed. 3) He did a great job in that movie. 4) This isn't a sequal in any way, shape or form. 5) The reason the characters are different is because the Joker in '89 was written as a vehicle for Jack. This new potrayl was written for the Joker.

Well, its all matter of opinion honestly, this joker appeals to me more then that last one.
He looks awesome, and from what ive seen in the trailer and the 6 min trailer.. it looks like pure genius. Heath is great
