STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Cold War

No binders, but surrounded by forty armed soldiers, a skilled leader and pistoleer, and three Dark Jedi, Gremon is not going to try anything at this point.

Gremon does not respond, remaining lax and silent in your grip.

Pade nods. "I have a place we can go. But we need to liberate the landing strip first. My militia had marched here and we have no ships. However, Gremon's Army had plenty of them..."

"Lead the way," Dak says shortly.

He forces Gremon to his feet, pulling out a knife. "The longer you cooperate, the longer you remain alive."

Dak will follow Pade, while keeping Gremon in front of himself with the knife as incentive to listen.

"To live or die, either will be under your knife," Gremon snarls.

"Thing is, we came in through the main entrance," Pade says. "We need an alternative route, as I have no doubts that the main entrance is covered..."

"We used alternatives to enter the mines," Ker'Raos informs him. "We can take my route, a broken down tunnel. Simplest and closest to the landing strip, I believe."

"Perfect."

The militia moves out with Ker'Raos directing Pade through the network of mining caves while carrying Wraith, and you dragging Gremon in the midst of the militiamen.

"Yes, that's correct," Dak replies as they walk, "I own you now; you are my tool. Do as I want, work for me, like a good tool, and you may die of old age instead. Otherwise... well, bad tools are simply tossed aside like the garbage they are."

"We shall see," Gremon says, simply. He refuses to say more.

The journey through the tunnels takes longer than expected. Despite the senses that Ker'Raos is afforded by his connection to the Force, there are a few times where the group gets lost. Eventually you find your way out through the collapsed tunnel, emerging onto the frozen and blustery surface of Arnia.

"I don't want to risk my men," Pade tells you. "They've already risked much and should be rewarded for their bravery, not thrown back into battle."

"True fighters go willingly into battle..." Dak says quietly, "But very well. Watch the Prince, I'll take a look around."

Dak will scope out the landing strip, using Intrusion to stay out of sight.

"We only have so many men at our disposal," Pade replies. "Be careful."

You stealthily stealth your way over to the landing area, where you can see that the Black Dawn is left untouched and unguarded. But the two armored troop transports have a guard of five troops each.

That ten soldiers altogether, or more?

Are Ker'Raos and I in any condition to fight?

There are ten soldiers altogether outside the ship.

Pade can have patched up your minor scratches and burns, which puts you in and Ker'Raos in a good state. Pade will be going in as well.

Okay, three of us should be able to take 10 soldiers easy.

Dak will return to the others, outline the details and his plan of attacking to Ker'Raos and Pade, then lead them back, using Intrusion as far as he can to remain unseen.

I think it'll work best if Dak attacks one group of five, Ker'Raos attacks the other, and Pade flicks off shots from a safe distance.

Ker'Raos thinks it would be better if he too flicked off shots from a distance, together with Pade giving you some decent covering fire.

Pade also expresses that Gremon's officers may be on board, one per ship.

Yay, time to stealth squares!

Dak will approach the closer group of soldiers with Intrusion, then use Draw to ignite his sabers and attack 4 of the soldiers with a Spin. Also, Cleave on that fifth.

The soldiers are gathered around the ramp, chatting boredly and asking each other how they think the battle is going for Gremon.

"No casualties whatsoever," the first soldier says. "Those rebels aren't worth anything. We only lost ten men driving them into the mines in the first place!"

"Yes, but they took Meja'Tsid," the third says.

"As if we were protecting it," the second says. "This is a show of force. Meja'Tsid is a major mining operation, but it's not like our economy is crippled without it on the galactic scale..."

"I completely..." starts the fourth, but there is a distinct snap-hiss as a pair of lightsabers ignite. Stepping into the midst of the soldiers from their flank, you swing your lightsabers across them in a wide arc, cutting all four down in a single Spin without even trying (10, 7, 9, 9).

The fifth soldier had not been close enough, but all he can do is give a startled yelp as you impale his heart with Cleave. He drops dead with the others.

The elegance of lightsabers has kept you from alerting the soldiers at the other troop transport, so Ker'Raos and Pade have the complete element of surprise when they open fire. The start on the edge of the group and sweep inwards.

Pade goes 14, 20, 4. Ker'Raos goes 12, 18, 5.

The one farthest right buckles as a kinetic volley smashes his spine. The one farthest left takes a blaster bolt to the base of his skull. The next farthest left turns to help his friend when his ribcage is crumpled by the next kinetic shot. The next farthest right does the same with his friend, but a blaster bolt catches him in the chest.

The last soldier is completely overwhelmed as blaster bolts and kinetic blasts burn him and break him, and he collapses.

Ten dead in five seconds. All is quiet.

Dak grins among the corpses. "Now, that's more like it..."

I assume Fix-It is needed to open the door to the transport?

The loading ramp is open. Within you can see seats where all the soldiers you have slain would have sat on the ride home.

Within you can also hear clawed-boots-on-metal footsteps. Coming your way!

Anywhere to hide inside the transport? If not, hide 'round the corner outside, I suppose.

Around the corner or beneath the ramp, either/or. Consider it done.

The Officer in the Arnian Royal Army steps down the ramp. Seeing the bodies of his guards, he quickly grabs up one of their rifles and scans the area for their killer...

Dak will come up behind the Officer from his hiding place, and attack with his sabers.

Having the element of surprise, you can attack twice. A 13 and a 19.

Sneaking up on the Officer, you place the emitters of your lightsaber hilts against his back and press the activation buttons. The lightsabers ignite straight through him, each inflicting 17 damage, taking him past his limit of 30 damage and killing him outright.

The Officer of the other troop transport shouts and raises his blaster to fire, but Pade shoots him in the shoulder for 12 damage. Clutching his shoulder, he turns to see who shot him as Pade and Ker'Raos advance onto the landing strip. With his kinetic rifle charged up, Ker'Raos rolls 7, 12, and 20 with Carnival of Carnage and sends the Officer hurdling backwards, snapping his back like a twig when he collides with a piston that lowers the transport's ramp.

"All clear, move in," Pade orders via comlink as he approaches you. "Dak, get to your ship. I'll pile my men into one of these transports, and then I want you to hit the other with a torpedo. No sense leaving it if we can't take it. Your ship does have torps, doesn't it?"

"Of course my ship has torpedoes," Dak answers as he heads to it. Anyone else flying in the Black Dawn?
