STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Trials

Xavier will keep a watchful eye on the surroundings.

A few curious onlookers, but no threats.

"I don't need to prove anything," Cabas says, waving his hand.

Kristof glares at him.

"What, do I look like a native? I won't let you waste my time..."

Cabas sighs, reaching into his cloak to produce the data-stick. He plugs the stick into his holoprojector, then passes the hand-held device to Kristof as a holographic image of Senator Wojaine materializes.

"Greetings, Kristof. This is Senator Wojaine speaking, as you no doubt realize. I have some friends who seek a route into the Sklaborean racket. They wish to know the next time of arrival. Give it them willingly; if you wish, I can compensate you. Until we meet again."

The image flickers out, Kristof still glaring at the holoprojector in his palm.

Xavier seeing no danger looks to see what Kristof's response will be.

"Fine," Kristof says, standing up from the table. He is rather short, but clean and crisp looking in an Almanian uniform. "Let's talk outside, alright?"

"Suits me just fine," Cabas says.

Xavier will follow the man.

You are confused when Kristof does not lead you towards the exit. It takes you a moment to realize that he was refering to the area beyond the gaming tables.

"I'm not going to ask any questions," Kristof says, seating himself at a booth. "It's for the best. Just ask me what you need to know and we'll be done."

Cabas nods.

Xavier looks over the booth. This going smoothly he thinks to himself. He waits for Cabas to get the answers they need then leave.

If Cabas had not been given the message by the Senator, it would not be going at all.

"The next raid is scheduled to happen tomorrow," Kristof alerts you. "We're taking the usual load. If you can get in touch with one of the raiding crews, express your interest in..."

He pauses.

"Are you sure you're up for joining a pirate crew, old man?" Kristof asks.

Cabas only smiles.

"Okay... well, what about you kid? Sure you're up for that lifestyle?"

Xavier forces a smile, "What better life is there."

Kristof kind of gawks at you in disbelief before shaking his head.

"Okay, so we've got an old man and a badly misinformed youth..." Kristof mutters. "Nice. A life aboard The Trade is hardly an easy one. Have you even met someone from the crew?"

"We've met a few pirates before." Xavier says.

Kristof shrugs.

"Alright, your life. The raid will be tomorrow, as I said, in the Riyn District, downtown. The slums. Full of nobodies with no futures..."

You notice Cabas turn slightly red.

"...they make good slaves."

Xavier notices Master Cabas face turning red.

"Thank You," Xavier replies.

Then he will wait for Master Cabas.

"You look a little uncomfortable," Kristof says.

"Stomach pains," Cabas says. "Nothing serious."

"I see. Enjoy the better life."

Kristof takes his leave of you, returning to the Liar's Cut tables.

"That went well Master," Xavier says.

Following him if he is leaving.

"I suppose," Cabas says. You sense his anger at Kristof's comment, but it slowly dissipates into nothingness. He walks in silence as you exit the casino. He speaks once you are clear.

"We shall have to go to the Riyn District to wait for the raid. Quarters for the night should be found, and we will discuss our course of action."

"Yes Master," Xavier says then adds. "Master... do not let his words bother you we shall end this."

Xavier will then go and get Quarters for them.

Motels can be found everywhere in the Riyn District. Most of them are kind of sketchy; the room you secure for yourself and Cabas has scorch marks from a blaster weapon on one wall, and the windows are cracked.

The Riyn District is a far cry from the glamour of the Corcorus District of Corcorus. Buildings are primitively built. Native Pydyrians, with their leathery skin and stretched features, can be seen milling about in the streets, accompanied by droids of all types.

"I can see why Kristof referred to these as the slums," Cabas comments, peering out the window of your motel room, "but I would hardly say that these people have no purpose. Pydyrians are notoriously lazy, sure, but that is compared to us humans, is it not? They have their own culture and they are remarkable droid-makers."

"Logically everything has a purpose. Isn't that what you taught me Master." Xavier replies while looking over the dank room.

"So what will be our plans of action Master?"

"It is," Cabas says, nodding. He watches out the window, then draws the blinds. He settles onto his bed, then gestures for you to do the same on yours.

"We are to take separate paths, Padawan. They are very different but with the same goal in mind. I will be sneaking aboard a raiding vessel, dispatching a raider and taking his place. It is a matter of stealth, something that you are not too familiar with, I'm afraid.

"However, your path is much simpler than mine."
