"Best not to distract them from their duty, Xavier. There is nothing we can do at this point but heal ourselves for the coming battle..."
The landspeeder pulls to a halt in front of an old medical facility. Stretches are brought to you to escort you into the hospital without forcing you to walk on your badly injured legs.
Soon enough, you have been deposited into a tank of bacta, alongside Cabas. Hoondan and Loola watch, hoping for the best results.
Xavier floats in the bacta tank, he keeps his eyes open. His mind is racing about everything happening. He hopes Trax will survive. He keeps staring at Loola, hoping to keep her alive.
You do know I'm the one doing these things right? You have never known friendship or love in your life. You look at them as tools. I can see them as more. Never forget I possess things you want, but can never have!
All Xavier can do in resonse is close his eyes.
It is a good hour before your wounds finally close up in the regenerative presence of the warm, soothing bacta. The doctors pull you from the tank once they believe you are set. The nerves and muscles in your thighs have reattached themselves, and you can walk again.
For Cabas, things are not so grand. Without his severed hand present, the cauterized flesh has healed, leaving his arm as an awkwardly-angled stub. The doctors offer to perform a simple surgery to attach a prosthetic arm, but Cabas refuses the offer for reasons only he knows but will not share.
All damage is reset, but Cabas will experience a -2 penalty for the loss of his hand.
"It is time, Xavier," Cabas says. "We must meet them in combat..."
The freighter is on top of the short hospital complex.
"Jump!" Cabas says. He quickly takes Loola around the waist, being the lightest and easiest for him to carry with one hand. He performs a quick leap that carries up onto the squat building.
A laser streaks down from the sky and strikes the ground behind you, Xavier, destroying the landspeeder that you had taken to get here. It disappears in a flash of fire, vaporized.
Easily done. You join Cabas on the roof as Trax lowers the starship's ramp and ushers you aboard.
More lasers begin to streak out of the sky, colliding with buildings and the ground as they rain down from the Claw. Oddly, the city is relatively silent, though a few frightened citizens dash out of the hospital.
The laser batteries of the Ravaging Claw, whilst nowhere near as devastating as the cannons of The Trade, begin to target structures. A lone clock tower in the middle of the colony is struck with a heavy barrage, shattering it easily and sending its debris crashing into the city.
When Trax lifts off with his passengers aboard, the hospital crumbles beneath you when a series of lasers strike the side of the building.
"The starfighters never stood a chance," Trax is telling Cabas. "That vessel had strong shields and their firepower was too weak..."
"You said 'had,'" Cabas notes.
"I managed to land a direct hit on the shields' power source," Trax says. "A volley of proton torpedos did the trick, but I'm empty now. It will take more than freighter-grade blasters to destroy this thing..."
Now the anti-aircraft batteries on the ground at hitting back, launching high-powered laser blasts across the city and at the Claw. Most of the bolts impact brightly against the shields, but some slip through, burning into the armored hull.
