Martian Manhunter vs World War Hulk

^ What some people fail to see is that MM must use the absolute peak of his abilities in tandem in a way he hasn't even come close to doing. Ever. If he went intanible tangible so quickly and zipped around at super speeds and merely punched him with half-strength, the tactic would fail because WWH is super-durable and gets more durable as you anger him.

Should MMH then focus on super strong shots at full strength and use his super speed zippin about, and only going intangible-tangible seldomly, then one AoE thunderclap can counter that.

Should MMH decide then to use his full strength shots and his tangible-intangibility without superspeed, then WWH can telegraph his punches and defend or counter accordingly.

Those are semi-realistic scenarios, even though J'onn still hasn't demonstrated one single feat of the above other than tangible-intangible + super strength w/o superspeed. So where do these tactics leave MMH when he goes up against a super-strong, super-durable, relatively quick (to the point where his speed completely belies his size) with a super-healing factor who gets amped in all respects the more you anger him?

MMH is left with martian vision from afar and that aint going to cut it. At all. And his telepathy cuts MMH both ways, and if it fails and causes backlash, then he'll be in great danger of being pounded.

So what now? 😐

So either a purely physical assault using his speed or its an endless stalemate?

Its interesting- and I don't mean this sarcastically but genuinely interesting- how much opinions of characters are different from board to board. For instance, on some boards, WWH beats everybody and, on others, he is considered to be one of the most exxagerated characters ever.

The martian is far more versatile than hulk. How will the hulk defeat a super strength, shape shifting, intangibility, telepathy, near invulnerability, super speed martian? The only advantage the hulk might have is strength and even then it is debatable, because the martian is on par with superman. Let's not forget that John help Clark and Diana move the earth from the sun's gravity. He has taken on the justice league in two occasions and done well. Furthermore, if the martian doesn't want to be seen he could go invisible and rip the hulk's heart out. Or martian vision for the win.

Its kind of a Catch-22 to use that argument here because, by the cough cbr cough rules here, the MM would use his speed as in "characters who have super speed will use it regardless of whether they use it every time in the comics". If this were HeroChat, different story, different set of criteria.

But then again, who am I to talk? I once got called on cbr for hypothesizing a character using a tactic that was easily within her abilities simply because she had never used that specific tactic.

So its selective sometimes and as you have said, every board has its strengths and its weaknesses.

Wei phoenix is just acting like he gets to jump into MM and do something he has never done in a comic to try and get him the win. Most boards do favor certain characters and cbr is no different than anywhere else in that regard.

WWH wins this

WWH loses

I think WWH wins. I just don't see MM slugging it out with him. Maybe 6 or 7 out of 10 when factoring in everything MM can do....but WWH takes the majority.

WWH 8/10

WWH 11/10

MM 7-8/10

There is no way WWH or any other strength-only brick can win.

Martian Manhunter

^ you can do better than that

Martian Manhunter stomps

still a dc spam bot i guess

Martian Manhunter super stomps

World War Hulk 9/10

J'onn SHOULD win given his capabilities, but I just don't see him having it in him to put Hulk down, with Hulk's HF the way it is.

WWH takes it

Stalemate.
