He wasn't saying everything, was he weakened was he hurt was he double teamed. He said one thing and then never backed it up, just had him get a bloody nose from Sentry.

Because we doesn't know under what circumstances the stalemate happend thats why.
If Spiderman was thinking about Thor for instance he wouldn't think to himself.
Thor managed to defeat a very hungry Galactus. Galactus was very hungry given the fact that he used his technology in his fight with Ego, Thor almost got killed by Galactus but Ego saved him. Thor then retreated to a safe distance and utilized the GodBlast, the blast was capable of drawing the Biosphere energy out from Galactus and force him to retreat... would spiderman think all this ❌ he would say Thor once defeated Galactus without mention any of the circumstances.
