I would venture that it is in fact the stupidity of the audience.

All these filmakers do is turn out their effluence.
This alone wouldnt guarantee them success.

But a dumb audience who has seen TFs 1, TFs 2 is the one who'll still be expecting anything else other than a similar debacle as the prev two will guarantee their continued positions.
