this alone makes him the shit

He sums up his entire career with that one quote he said to Cable.

"...but what if, like tortured Sisyphus, I cannot win?" I liked animated Apoc more so than I do his comic counterpart.

A consistent and valid motive is a requirement IMO. Powers are meaningless to me in regards to how good a character is. The characters values are also a big deal, as I like both reading about ndividuals whose attitudes I can identify with, and ones who challenge my own.

Apocalypse has ruled earth before...for longer than 4 days. Plus alot of Apoc's plans only get foiled because of Cable, who comes from the future.

Darkseid is significantly more powerful than Apocalypse. Not a fair comparison.

i said 4 issues. not 4 days.

And Superman. Don't forget Superman.

But this isn't a contest between DS and crapocalypse.

People who think a character needs to be powerful to be a good character or can't actually name actual aspects of character, don't know what a good character really is, imo.

huh?

Oh. Just noting that DS has a higher tier of hero to contend with.

One of the reasons I like Mordru so much as a villain is that he's so easy to figure out motivation wise: he's just a dick who likes to **** with people with his powers. In fact that seems to be his only purpose, to be the ******* who was there before the big bang and will still be an ******* after the big crunch.

Exactly, that's something you can get behind. Being a **** for the sake of it. Mordru's always been a fave of mine.

depends on the character. Power does come into play but that should take a back seat to the character. Some characters are just far reaching so to drastically change their powerset is gonna raise an eyebrow or too. Its a reason why only a moron would want a character like Batman to exhibit physical powers near supermans. It goes against the grain of what he is.

Meh well all my favourite characters are street levelers and I tend to like street levelers more than any other type.

another thing that makes a character good is having a consistent history with no hiccups or unexplained changes to the character.

basically a linear history and set abilities and personality
