I hear some of these instances brought up frequently, in an effort to demean Mxy -- so let's look at them closely, shall we?

1.) "Gog blasting Mxy":

Note that Mxy was clearly unprepared when Gog blasted him -- and that all he had to do was revert back to the 5th dimension to regain himself.

Now why isn't this necessarily a low showing?

Because Gog's staff housed...

"The energy of the Guardians of the Universe"
"The power of the Source"
"And the combined magical might of Zeus and Shazam":

If anything, this instance serves to demonstrate the amount of power required just to harm an unprepared Mxy.

2.) "Spectre's 'depowering' of Mxy, during DoV"...

Note that Mxy isn't completely depowered...

"I might have a spell or two left in me" -- he then teleports himself and Superman to Ruin's location:

Mxy used his powers to 'take the bullet' for Superman -- this action allowed Mxy to utter his name backwards, which made him fade from Superman's arms as he returned back to the 5th-D, and regained his powers:

is that Mxy was caught off guard, AND depowered during this incident, [both were confirmed on panel]:
