Thanos is a low Skyfather Himself. Maybe Mid. Prime is a high skyfather. As Superman prime, he's entity lvl, having the combined power of a guardian and a PC kryptonian.
Well, I may have missed the most recent issue of 'Countdown,' but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been quite established yet that Superman Prime has "absorbed" the power of a Guardian. I've seen that float around an awful lot in forum discussion and don't understand where it came from. Yes, it's a theory because he's obviously amped in some form or another... but equating his amping to the full measure of a Guardian of Oa? That is one step too far...
Obviously, Superboy Prime turned into Superman Prime after being transported by the Guardian, but that transformation could easily have been accomplished via a timewarp or some other plot device. I am not so quite convinced that Superman Prime has absorbed the strength of a Guardian just yet. Of course, maybe I missed one of the three dozen crossovers of 'Countdown,' but I'm pretty sure I haven't...
And even withstanding this, I am very convinced that Superboy Prime is no where near the power levels of a PC Kryptonian that sneezes away dead galaxies, tows several planets on a chain and hurls a dog-collar that weighs as much as a neutron star.
Those levels of strength are on a completely different level then moving around Thanagar, the only real legitimate strength feat he's got. Breaking the 50 GL (mostly rookies) reinforced wall is another feat that clearly puts him above Superman, but does it really compare to PC Superman feats? I think not.
There is a fair consensus amongst the comics community that the most hyped-up feats of Superboy Prime, (i.e. punching out of the Phantom Zone and causing retcons of time by punching the barrier), are mainly due to his unique status as an otherverse entity in unique situations. This I think, is just as, if not, a more legitimate theory that Superboy Prime is a PC Kryptonian for two reasons:
1) Whether or not you wish to subscribe to such a theory, it was obvious that Superman-2 was stronger then Superboy Prime during the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths.' And Kal-El (Superman-1) during 'Infinite Crisis' was holding his own quite well against an enraged Kal-L (Superman-2) when Earth-2 was temporarily recreated. He was not getting creamed.
2) Superboy-Prime, as far as I'm concerned, does not even have a PC Kryptonian history. Those PC Superboy feats that are being toted around are basically Kal-L (Superman-2) during his younger days. Unless I'm wrong in my history, Superboy-Prime came from a universe that had NO OTHER superpowered heroes/beings (Prime Universe). The most ridiculous PC Kryptonian feats clearly occurred in universes that contained other superpowered heroes/beings (Krypto for example).
While Superman-Prime's feats are impressive, killing alternate universe Supermans with ease and blowing up alternate universe Earths, I don't see that beyond the ability of Kal-El (Superman-1). That's right, I believe a sun-dipped, completely unhinged Superman-1 with the element of surprise could blow through an alternate universe Superman Zod. Not only that, I'm pretty sure it is within an unamped Kal-El's (Superman-1's) ability to tear apart Earth.
I welcome any counter debates in my direction, but that's my informed opinion after reading 'Infinite Crisis' and it's tie-ins, random DC secret origin/profiles of Superboy-Prime, '52,' 'Sinestro Corps War' and 'Countdown.'
