I saw this awhile back. The movie was pretty boring to me and the end was just plain stupid...
Spoiler:. Also why the hell did the butcher guy have those genital wart looking things all over his body?
stupid fat-bellied subterranean aliens, not to mention how predictable the whole "good guy" turns bad in the end thingy was

I forgot to ask, does anyone know if Clive Barker has had health problems, like a stroke. Because I watched him in the DVD extras and his speech didn't seem normal.
Barker had polyps in his throat and had it removed. He was also a heavy smoker. I think I read somewhere he gave it up.
I read the short story (first story in the Books of Blood volume 1) and I liked it. It was, of course, not the best of the lot, but entertaining. The movie, however, I did not hate, but didn't really like it either.
I was thinking they would show
Spoiler:, but I am sure in terms of visual and movie it may have not really worked.
the ultimate being Kaufman sees after he kills the butcher, not just those beings that eat the meet. I think it would have been nice to show that the beings could indeed speak, had voice and ''reason'' if you wish, and that they also did not enjoy eating raw flesh, but that's the only way they can survive.
