OK, thanx to Roland and Chill's input, I have 3 new choices. The Ford Ranger, Ford Focus, and a choice I found last night online, the Chevy Cobalt.

I know, but I have driven trucks most of my adult life, and I like the cargo area to put my groceries and shit. gotta be a king cab though.

You should get it then, I'm sure it would be more economic. Also, couldn't you lie the back seats down to make the boot larger? That would give you just as much space as the cargo area in the Ranger.
