trick did something counter-productive to a tournament??? jawdrop
i for one cannot believe it. 😐
can we just set FIRM dates and start on time? if one partner doesn't show, simply continue on or better yet just eliminate them from the event. the whole 'i-want-in-until-things-get-going schtick is getting REALLY old and frankly it's disrepectful to those competeing and to those running. we really should start a list of people who are simply barred from tournaments. i plan on hosting one in the not-too-distant-future, and i WILL discriminate based on how people have behaved/acted in past events. the whole dropping out thing is getting out of hand. you can't commit -- DON'T JOIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
end rant

Just make it clear how long your tournament will be, so those that do end up joining will have a better idea if they can commit to the tournament or not. If the tournament length is clear from the start, then you should have no problems with people dropping out due to the tournament being too long.
EDIT:
Also, keep in mind people have lives outside the forum too. If a tournament ends up being too long, then they may not be able to commit to it.
