If there was such a ruling it was never put on the first page. It wouldn't shock me if that had been discussed somewhere in these 40+ pages of posts or in some MSN chat that half of us would never hear about.
I asked before we finished drafting for an update/summary of any such rulings or clarifications on the front page, but that never materialized.
We shouldn't change rules mid-battle, but if everyone agrees a change between rounds might be OK. If we do impliment such a limit in future rounds I'd be alright with it provided I have the option to replace Madrox with another single character.

I haven't even been on the last couple of days, christ, and I give paul the stuff to edit, cause if ya recall big lee, we went over this quite a bit ago. So, what is your exact question.
Also, send me your write ups for the next round, judges vote on smurph's match. I'm putting paul and bran in pool a and b respectively, so one person will sit out every week. Trick's being difficult, and goober's facing unfortunate circumstances. Expect the next roun match ups to be posted shortly.
