1) moderation is too strict

lol, how?

Also it's funny how you say this even though your platform for being a mod was that you'd be stricter.

2) important members being banned (Nvr)

I kind of agree... now that he's not claiming stupid shit, hoards of debators aren't needed to make him look stupid.

3) just plain lack of new interesting matchups

I disagree entirely.

This could definatly be true.

well....that's not what you guys are paid to do! 😠

You're supposed to keep the forum brimming with back and forth debate, interspesed with humorous PWN3ge every now and then!

Pwning debators is overrated.

Nowadays I just lease them. 🙂

yes, you are quite right. I think I may still be able to save the forum if I am made moderator immediately. Heed this poster's wisdom, mods.

🙄

Kinda full of yourself aren't you?

Most of the debators that have been around for a while have debated each other to death...so we basically joke around on PM. 🙂

Exactly.

That and we're all smart enough to agree with each other. 😗

I've noticed there's a lot less activity in the versus forum and new threads don't get a lot of posts like they used to.

I'm wondering what the reasons are and whether anyone can post solutions to liven up the versus forum?

I think some reasons are:

1) moderation is too strict
2) important members being banned (Nvr)
3) just plain lack of new interesting matchups
4) knowledgeable members sticking to tournies rather than versus threads

just my 2 cents

Its very simply. Most of the people on here have debated to death. Its to the point where everything that can be said about a character has. I can't speak for other members but I usually now just use the forums to catch up on whats new as well as relay my opinion on recently read comics.

I've been here around 8 months and I'm already sick and tired of debating most characters in the high herald class.

This is a great place to discuss recent comics though.

I made a mistake. So what?

You made a mistake when you left your name off the list. 🙂

Bruce, A.J, settle down.

You didn't have a chance in Hell of becoming a Moderator before, and demanding to be made one isn't working to well for you either.

I would have thought you'd of given up by now.

Can't you do something a bit more original. 😬

Closing

And here's the thing I always say when people make these threads:

The forums (any of them) are as alive or dead as you make them. As a rule, most people end up bored with the vs. forum because there's only so long one can go before the same matchups appear and reappear. This isn't a recent trend but was true years ago. It's all relative to when you joined and how often you participate.

The moderation is the best it's been since back when it was just Paola, since it was a smaller community back then. If you ave a problem with it, PM them personally over differences of opinion.

As for activity, I have no idea what people use as a measuring stick for how active a forum is. Probably just personal bias. But it's consistently the 2nd most active forum after the OTF. Complain if you want, but by that standard it's among the livliest forums on KMC.

Anyway, the smart thing to do is to contribute when there are topics that interest you, and divest your time elsewhere in the forums since there's many other things to be done besides debating in a vs. forum.
