So, Avengers Assemble actually referenced the Cancerverse?

Did they at all make note of how Starlord and Thanos escaped?

Yes.

No.

🙁

Yeah.

Wasn't the Canserverse like, you know, completely obliterated...

Obviously not.

This moran over here.

So the Cancerverse incident makes this story canon/legit and not just a lame@$$ attempt at re-telling the original Thanos/Cosmic Cube saga(with the movie Avengers put in for good measure) ?

Most of the undead fodder were , yes . The space and the universe in general was itself intact .

The MAOs themselves were only severely crippled iirc . To the point that it would have taken several millennia just to recover from their injuries for them .

It's canon as Iron Man joins the Guardians of the Galaxy during Marvel Now due to these events.

$5 says they made this move because they want Downey Jr in the movie

Avengers Assemble is canon.

Brevoort confirmed that in MARVEL NOW! panel.

He also said that AA will interact and rely on the roster of Hickman's Avengers.
Stating that Hickman's characters will eventually pop up as guests in AA.
And he also said that we will see anything that affects the members of AA in their own titles, reflected in AA.

Yeah, all that is fine but the Cancerverse reference imo was the final nail in the coffin of any attempts by Thanos fanboys to dismiss it as non-canon to Thanos' history .
