What ever happened to "Freedom of Speech"?
This video is full of amazing points about the freedoms of America being trampled upon:
you know why i dont actually put up an argument about this...because i dont give a shit about America...
and still with the youtube videos...i mean seriously...the only piece of noteworthy info you posted was about something completely unrelated...but because it feeds your need about wanting there to be a hidden agenda to enslave the people of America you have to twist it...seriously...why?...why is it that America is the only country that has this bizarre obsession?...is it some kind of reaction to moving from a religious society into a secular one that one belief needs to be replaced by another...any other no matter how bizarre..
is it a reaction to a shit government that now...no matter what they do..it has to be somehow subversive and evil in every single action it takes
it simply cant be that they got it so unbelievably wrong at hurricaine katrina and got so heavily criticised from the entire world that such an unbelievablely slow reaction to a massive disaster in the richest and most advance country on the planet could happen...that yes...their plans might be overboard to the point of ridiculousness
it has to be that its a ploy to create "concentration camps" in which to imprison everyone...do you have any notion of how insulting that is to the people who actually went through the nazi concentration camps and japanese labour camps (which were actually worse that the nazi ones)...
you actually think that taking control of trains in a national emergency is somehow a ploy to ship millions of people to prisons?
your last post is about "freedoms of america being trampled on" but how has the life of the average american been affected?...its a little more difficult to get on a plane?...i hear the same thing being trumpeted in the UK...that human rights are being thrown away post 9/11...well the fact is...my life and the lives of my friends haven't been affected in anyway and my guess is its the same for the average joe in the US
the US government gets accused of scaremongering when it has press conferences about possible terror attacks...ala the anthrax thing shortly after 9/11...if the government knew and it said nothing it would be accused of not acting...allegedly like 9/11...so its a no win situation for them...and its the same with preparing for national emergencies...it was lacking in preparation pre katrina and got slated....they learn from their mistakes and plan for the worst and get accused of making plans to enslave the nation
grow up...chill out...live life...and be safe in the knowledge that when push comes to shove...and if a government ever did try to enslave its people....down tools and do nothing and watch the rich people crumble...because its people like you that make them their money...not them...a perfect example being nothern rock in the UK...everyone withdrew their cash...and the bank went bankrupt virtually overnight

There is the The Act of August 29, 1916, which authorizes the Secretary of the Army, in time of war, to take possession of any transportation system for transporting troops, material, or any other purpose related to the emergency:

FEMA's powers were consolidated by President Carter to incorporate: The National Security Act of 1947, which allows for the strategic relocation of industries, services, government and other essential economic activities, and to rationalize the requirements for manpower, resources and production facilities.

And then there is The International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which enables the President to seize the property of a foreign country or national. These powers were transferred to FEMA in a sweeping consolidation in 1979:

From the wikipedia article:
The International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) is a United States federal law allowing U.S. Presidents to identify any unusual extraordinary threat that originates outside the United States and to confiscate property and prohibit transactions in response. In the United States Code the IEEPA is Title 50, sections 1701-1707.

Weeeell, our GDP/GNP is larger than any other country by far....but we are not the most advanced country in the world I don't think. I think that that title belongs to Finland.

I am with you on this one. However, the fear is that more and more freedoms will be lost and if it is allowed to continue with no cap, or even a reduction, in sight we will not longer be "The Home of the Free". Surely you realize this. It has happened plenty of other times in history.

That type of attitude doesn't solve much. It should say, "Educate yourself, enjoy life, work hard, and don't be overly skeptical but don't be idiotically blind."
And then of course we have The John Warner Defense Act of 2007 passed easily at the end of September 2006, authorizing the expenditure of $526 billion for fiscal year 2007. Only 23 U.S. representatives voted against the Act, and not a single senator objected during a unanimous voice vote. Section 1076 of the Act Changed the title of the law from "Insurrection Act" to "Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order Act".
Specifies situations in which the President can invoke martial law (natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident or other condition in which the President determines that domestic violence has occurred to the extent that state officials cannot maintain public order). These had not been specified before.
Here is an official press release about the Act:

Here is the Wikipedia description of the act:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.R._5122_(2006)
Wikipedia states:
H.R. 5122, also known as the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007 was a bill passed in the United States Congress on September 30, 2006 and signed by President George W. Bush on October 17, 2006. Among other things, it includes:
$500 billion allocated to the military and defense related activities for fiscal year 2007
Expansion of the President's power to declare martial law under revisions to the Insurrection Act, and take charge of United States National Guard troops without state governor authorization when public order has been lost and the state and its constituted authorities cannot enforce the law.

It is an understandable perspective, since you don't live here. But I DO care about America, and I am still not interested in these "camps". I'm still waiting for someone to offer an explaination for them, ridiculous or not.
Just recently, (last 1.5 years) it was changed to now the President has total control over the National Guard in each state. That is, to say, that the Governors can't say no.
