The communications officer suddenly sat bolt upright. "My, general. Transmission from the Dark Blade marked urgent and for General Geion and you, sir. Should I inform Geion to return?"

(I have a HELL of a lot riding on the Sith atacking Kessel, what with me introducing Mara Jade as another char. Either her or I'm thinking about bringing in (cloning) Thrawn in...)

gren responded to valos. "go ahead. i simply want to help." he turned to the officer. the officer nodded and changed the channel to vassisk. "good evening admiral, what seems to be the problem?"

"Impossibe...audio, switch...Der...144 encryption code..re..pt....tch...rra 14....ption..cod..."

The transmission bugged out. The comm officer turned. "It will take an hour to recalibrate our com relay for Derra-144 encryption. I'll need 3 techs, 2 engineers and one of the engineers supplied by Vassisk."

He stood as his junior replacement took his station.

On the ground several AT-ST's and over a hundered Spermtroopers approached the opening to the Rebel's base. The AT-ST's moved ahead while the Sterntroopers entered the outter bunkers declaring them devoid of life.

the fire sword activated its laser cannons. its turbolasers spun and its ion cannons flashed. the shields pulsed up and fighters swarmed. the ssd. began moving from the other side of the planet. grens garrison base was evacuated. every vehicle was removed, and all fighters launched. the base was empty. the tie fighters swarmed around the fire sword. captain morcon activated comms. "identify yourselves and recall your starfighters or we will fire on you." he thought they had the advantyage as the enemy might not know of the ssd's presence as it was circling the planet. the asteroid field, filled with mines that had recently been set. stood betweeen the new imperials, and the mandalorians.

"aka solus" jacen ordered over open frequencies to his fighters (which includes Mareek and Ackya) who began their first objective, clearing the mine field and jacen turned to respond to the call "i see it trivial to identify ourselves as you know who we are, unless you incompidence is greater than you weakness" jacen told gren

(( actually, you really shouldnt be able to know there is a mine field. the mines have stealth generators. we wouldnt make a mine field that everyone knows about and can easily dispatch with their fighters. oh, and gren isnt here. its captain morcon.))

morcon smiled. "sorry, but we have to scan you first. JACEN" he turned to his weapons officer. "is everything set?" the officer looked up at him. "yes sir, ready for battle." the captain turned back to the transciever. "what do you want. from what i know, your little friend is with vassisk on a classified mission, as a guest of course."

~i dont think any military would have the money for that, but whatever~

the fighters blew up the asteroid field using their lasers, missiles and bombs, and were helped by the capital ships.
jacen smirked at the response "wow you knew my name i'm so surprised, and please call me Mandalore, show some respect for your conqueror" jacen told morcon over the transmitter with a smile as his ships scanned the planet for electrical signals

The SSD Rebel Vengance dropped out of hyperspace a few klicks behind the 3 ISD-III's.

Captain Juion recieved the message from Hoth but knew he couldn't react with only three dozen (36) Calamari cruisers and 48 squadrons of TIE's and X-wings, and one ISD-II. He prepared Sluis Vans defense.

Satana stood quietly beside Jacen, waiting for her orders and for battle. She was getting itchy, badly wanting to get this battle over and done with.

the asteroids exploded in large chain reactions. their explosions engulfed the fighters. morcon smiled. this would be easy. he turned to the weapons officer. "all turbolasers. fire through the hole their making us in the asteroid field." he turned back to the transciever. "im afraid that our peaceful attempts were met with forceful hostile threats." he grinned widely." im afraid that battle is immenint. only a sith would attack with no provocation." the transmission terminated and the firew sword's turbolasers fired. turbolaser blast exploded on starfighters as they attampted to make a path to the enemy ships.

Admiral Valerian sensed a disturbance in the Force. A battle, or something similar, had erupted. He approached the bridge of the Flying Fortress and pressed the comm button on.

"Jacen... everything fine? I sensed trouble."

The 3 Golon-IIIs began to move into a defense position and launched three squadrons of fighters each.

"Red leader to to all squadrons. Hang back until they clear the asteroid field. All wings report in." Commander Eris asked.

"Blue leader standing by."

"Green leader standing by."

"Gray leader standing by."

Eris smiled. "Strike foils to attack position." Hhe flipped several switches and brough his nose around to face the Golon he just exited. two other squadrons followed him.

the star destroyer ceased fire and let the gap in the asteroid field slowly clear. the fihter squadrons under his command waited behind the ship. the ssd had still not cleared the planet.

the fighters doubled back to the cruisers for rearmment and such and a new volley launched, there was 3 TIE-Defender squadrens (led by Mareek), 2 Chiss clawcraft squads and 3 interceptor squadrens which rushed the field carefully avoiding asteroids as Lucre-class battleship vectored out infront of the field from, what would be underneath, and immediately attacked the SD as it launched it's 3 freighters and seven gunships
"no Valerian everything is fine, just dealing with some bugs" jacen told valerian over a long distance communication

the star destroyer flipped what would be upside down and fired its cannons at the battleship. the star destroyers 3 tie bomber squadrons went straight at the lucrehulk, escorted by 3 tie interceptor squadrons, and a tie defender squadron. gunships swarmed from around the side of the planet, followed by more starfighters. then, the super star destroyer came into view. the bombers began to dodge turbolasers as they sped between the two ships. they began to pelt the shields of the lucrehulk.

The Golons opened up with their turbolaser and ion cannons. Commanded Eris pulled his squadron around the battlestations perimeter and kicked away after the approaching TIE-Defenders. "Deflectors to full power. Charge cannons and prepare to break formation."

Meanwhile other squadrons enguaged the approaching fighters and ships.

The seven planetary ion cannons fired at the approaching ships, obliterating their electrical systems. Another five planetary turbolaser cannons rained out fiery death at the deactivated ships while from orbit, several more anti-orbital cannons fired.

Inside the asteroid field the destroyed asteroids became much smaller and far more dangerous to approaching fighters. Eris picked off a squadron of Chiss fighters with his three squadrons of X-wings. He swung his X-wing around and tapped his com. "Protect the Golon's." He then broke off from his fighter group and spun down and towards a flight of TIE-Defenders's Mk-I's two others followed.

"Cut to the left, I'll take the leader." Eris said.

"Rodger." Red three curved arouned behind another TIE 'death-ender'.

The flight of X-wings matched their preys evasive meneouvers and emptied their cannons into the TIE Defender shields before each releasing a proton torpedo each and spinning and waiting for their pray to break and avoid the missiles. Seconds later two exploded and a third and fourth, fith and sixth dodged the missiles which exploded prematurely doing considerable damage to the flight ahead. Several did break and come around to swat the annoyance but they ran straight into the Golons connons and exploded, the second pair broke and ran into Eris and Red three's lasers. Both exploded.

~chiss clawcraft are far superior than an x-wing in pretty much every way, they definately wouldn't go down easily~
mareek flew arround picking off the enemy fighters one by one "come on, zaarin put up more of a fight!" mareek taunted from his TIE-Defender. despite it now being an outdated ship, mareek had been among the first to fly a TIE-Defender and knew everything somebody could do with one, he carefully avoided any asteroid large enough to do damage, and avoided blasterfire, the whole thing reminded him of when he had to clear a laser-mine field while taking out a squad of interceptors, he managed to come out of the fight with minimal damages to his own interceptor. mareek grabbed the last x-wing (in its squad) with the tractor beam and destroyed it with his quad-linked laser fire, then broke off to shake a new x-wing from him, he was surprised that the pilot had some skill and does a break to avoid some firing ~he's taking on Eris~

the rest of the fleet moved past the asteroid field by avoiding it. the aggressors used their main cannons to destroy some ion cannons
"this is Mandalore, surrender the planet and your prisoner, and we will let you live, otherwise we will crush you," jacen belowed over a transmission to all ships

(they were heavily damaged by the mini asteroids.)

((my guy already said the prisoner is not here. he is with vassisk. shouldnt you be able to sense that?))

the avenger flew under the lucrehulk class battle ship, its ion cannons and turbolasers wreaking havok on its systems. small pockmark explosions rippled its surface as bombers hit their targets. a slightly larger explosion occured out of the right hanger. the avenger flew from under the asteroid field and blasted away at the ships drained from the planetary ion cannon.
