"After being escorted to Coruscant by Governor Tarkin, Boba finally acquired his one and only chance at Mace Windu. Boba followed and waited for the Jedi in the Supreme Chancellor's chambers, of all places. Boba engaged Mace Windu in combat but could not kill the Jedi Master. The two stood, battered and wounded, each ready to deliver a final blow with their weapons. The fight was actually halted by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, before either one could make a move. Boba was surprised to learn that the Chancellor already knew that Dooku was Tyranus. He also knew that Boba would hunt down Mace Windu, once he arrived on Coruscant. "I believe we share a common enemy," the Chancellor told Fett. Palpatine paid Fett for his information and told him never to speak of their conversation again, an agreement that Boba wisely kept. Then the Chancellor sent him on his way. "

That one. He did that when he was eight. The fact that they were both ready to "make there final blows" and were "battered and wounded" implies that even if Mace was not trying to outrigtht kill him, he was hard pressed to even defeat him.

so it happened in a novel? if so, that would be why i'd never heard of that particular encounter.

anyhow, could it be that mace found it morally wrong to kill an 8 year old child, so he simply held back? i'd think so, myself.

At the risk of his own death during the war? He's not that foolish. He likely wasn't trying to kill the kid, but the fact. that he couldn't defeat an eight year old boy is something else.

Exactly.

You don't have to kill someone to defeat them, especially if they're trying to kill you. He could have at least detained him, disarmed him or something. The fact that he couldn't even do that...

if boba were truly able to give mace a good fight as an 8 year old child, surely he wouldn't have been owned by darth as he was, during his later/more experienced years. sorry, but something about that just screams 'pis' imo.

I'd have to question how canon that event was.

It just seems really, really improbable that an eight year non-force sensitive can contend with one of the more powerful Jedi in history.

agreed. i mean, wouldn't that make rotj luke >> mace? 😕

Well to be fair, Boba's "loss" to Luke was hardly a fair fight. And didn't he get tagged by Han?

So ROTJ Han>>>>>>ROTS Sidious?

Dude.

Well, he was "General" Solo at that point.

That's some pretty intense god status right there.

The only reason Boba fell into the Sarlacc was because Han blindly smashed a force pike into his jetpack while his back was turned. That doesn't necessarily mean that Han>Boba.

Now I'd say Boba probably wins this fight, if we're taking the Boba vs. Mace fight and Karen Traviss' crap as canon. Though I suspect that Jango's Mandalorian iron armor (the stuff that's lightsaber-proof, and that Mace only got through because he sliced at the unprotected neck area) might stop long-distance blaster shots and the like from Boba who, by contrast, has regular durasteel armor.

Where does it give a breakdown of each of their armor's material?

I believe Boba's armor in LOTF is suppose to be lightsaber resistant including at the neck area.

Take that Jango's beliefs.

Well Boba Fett is going to get more hype from a Karen Traviss as I heard she will be writing a post LOTF novel about him.

Since he technically died in RotJ, they need to let him be rather than amp him up with uber skills and powers and being able to fight (well) with a saber. He seemed rather humble in front of Vader in ESB.

He had a cold.

Well isn't kind of like mocking Vader? "Oh look, I'm Vader. i have a cold. I can't breathe without help."

Ballsy if you ask me.

Boy's got a fox-attitude, no doubts there.

Well, all was set right when for the SE's, Lucas gave him a cough drop lozenge.

And suddenly he became a Kiwi.
