Well Dooku wasn't exactly the pinnacle of Sithly goodness now was he? Like he knew what he was talking about.
Well, I got hell here when I said that I considered Dooku more of a pseudo Sith.
I was told of his Greatness.
Anyhow, he ought to know the basics at any rate.
What is this sh*t? I doubt that one achieves the title of 'Dark Lord of the Sith' without having an extensive knowledge of Sith teachings. Dooku not only wields that title, but wields it alongside the greatest Sith of all time. Of course he knows what he is talking about.
And he certainly isn't a psuedo Sith. He plunged the Galaxy into an inter-galactic war, killing trillions, all for personal gain. If that doesn't represent his greed and dedication to the Sith Order then I don't know what does.

Yes, yes.
I am not bothered about Dooku's Greatness or lack of it - I just thought that what he said to Ventress was odd.

Actually, I was under the impression that Dooku genuinely believed that that the galaxy would be better with him (and humanity) in charge.
I recall his musings from Stover's ROTS novel, and this would seem to be the case.
I don't want to get side tracked - I am not one to debate for the sake of debate, but he was different from most Sith.
His pride in his integrity was his downfall.
It seems that Sidious' biggest mistake was turning Jedi.
But then, he did not have much of a choice after what happened to Maul.

I was under the impression Sidious simply used Maul to kill Qui-Gon? I thought that was the main reason for him being his apprentice: to kill the one and only person who could actually stop Anakin from turning to the dark side. He would have eventually made Anakin (or Dooku) his apprentice, even if Maul was still alive.

So, what would have happened to Maul? Would he have done his own thing or what?
