QFT.

😐

Fact is, the Wings still outplayed them. If Fleury doesn't become Superman, the Wings would be hungover and smiling as we speak.

Go Pens. It's possible now, since they can win at home and anything can happen in Game 7. Still unlikely though.

Well, it hockey, thats generally the case.

yeah, thats what i was saying. The Penguins have been out played in every game. The Penguins have no answer for the Red Wings lines. I doubt they will get lucky again tomorrow, but i greatly hope so. Maybe, they will do what they did in overtime last night, tomorrow, worry only about getting the puck deep and getting shots on goal. It seems that when they worry about match ups they are always in pursuit trying to stop an odd man rush

I'll go out on a limb and say the Pens legitimately won Game 3, not just got lucky. But yeah, every other game they were < the Wings.

Yeah, i dont mean to discredit the Penguins performance. Even, when being out shot, out scored and out hustled, they never give up. They may not have the firepower, field awareness or even the tires to go the distance against this army, but they certainly have the determination and resilience to pull an upset. They certainly earned a game six after their performance in game five. Even though the stats say one thing, i think the Penguins out played the Wings in the overtime periods, they seemed to be playing much harder than the Wings. Seeing Malone and Gonchar return after those injuries was inspiring. I dont know how good the Penguins will be tomorrow. Many of their players played 30-40 minute shifts and Fluery may have over extended himself. Players said, after the game, Fluery could barely move. This wouldn't cause so much concern if the Penguins were actually able to take control of the puck and game, but they have not done that once, yet, in this series. Regarless of what happens tomorrow though, They have played very hard and have given the fans much to be proud of in this playoff season. It will also be good to hear the penguin chants again.

Yeah, everyone's pretty much hit the nail on the head. The Wings have definitely outplayed the Pens...except when the puck is behind the net. Osgood clearly does not have the range/mobility that Fleury has when the puck is bouncing around behind the net. Also, the Pens forwards/defenders are winning that particular battle at both ends.

Sometimes it's resulting in odd-man rushes going the other way, but if they want to get legitimate chances, the puck has got to end up behind Osgood at least 4 times per period tonight.

Even though I am a Pens fan, I give credit where credit is due. The Wings have outplayed the Pens the majority of the series, no doubt. The Pens passing and puck control blows hot and cold at best.

Fleury and Osgood are both a credit to their respective teams.

If nothing else, both teams have certainly given the series an exciting edge.

Watching the white gloved boys dust off the cup Monday night and then seeing the Pens tie it up with 35 left - SWEET, BABY !

How the hell can anybody say hockey isn't exciting ?

Go Pens !!

Man, I wonder why the Penguins haven't figured out that shooting the puck on net is a good idea. They are hardly EVER in the Red Wings zone, and when they finally do take puck control in the Wings zone, they set up and try and find a pretty goal. The Penguins do not have an offense or defense strong enough to set up in the Red Wings zone at full strength (or even on a power play for that matter). They need to take every possibly shot and throw it on goal. for some reason, they continue to try and set up, or shovel the puck behind Osgoods net which ALWAYS results in a turn over that goes back in the Pens zone for five minutes or so. Maybe, it's the coaching that is losing these games for the Pens.

Well that was about as close as you can get. The Penguins were about two inches away from sending it back into overtime. Even though it wasn't a very entertaining series, there was some good Hockey. And as much as i loathe the ****ing Empire, at least the Penguins were able to play against and lose to the best team in the NHL. As long as next years Roster stays relatively intact. I think they will be an even better team having been able to play against the Wings in the cup finals. Good on Wings.

well f*ck

To answer at least one of rage's points, the reason they had to dump the puck in so often was due to the Wings' excellent defense in the neutral zone. Harassing players, intercepting passes, etc. Not entirely the Pens fault, just a great display of disciplined D.

Wings were the better team. Sucks, but they were. Pens fought, made it a series, tried incredibly hard...that's about all you can ask. No shame in that, just no Cup either.

😬

People were expecting them to make it so soon.

If Malkin, Crosby, Staal and Fluery stick together then they will be near it every year.

They got the talent in the minors to fill out the roster with quality players, and the defense is largely intact with Gonchar, Whitney and Orpik.

Hossa is the only one who might not be back, but it would be crazy for him to leave right now.

I think I know what was going through Osgood's head on that last shot that bounced behind him with 2 seconds left. His heart.

Congrats to the Wings (or as a local sports announcer called them, The Swedish National Team) on winning the Stanley Cup. They deserved it. The team was classy, and for the most part, so were the fans. How they don't win it every year is baffling.

Trevor Lindens retires today. great player.

Same with Hasek.

Just happens that people dont like him. That douche.

i finished my finals today, and these guyz were talking about Broduer and Roy.

so now i ask you guyz, who would you consider the better OVERALL goalie.

Broduer eventually.

Cant really say though because I never say Roy is his prime, but Broduer has the stats to back up his championship, and gold medals.

The game he played in 2002 Olympics was unbelievable and his constantly keeps the Devils in the playoffs himself, no matter how many people they lose.

NHL hockey rules, Pens fall to Detroit in the finals

somB!TCH Pens lost Malone and roberts. I really liked Malone. It sucks now that i have to hate him. Looks like the Pens are going to be bidding for Jagr. I think it would be fuking aces if they could get him. I would like to see him finish his career in Pittsburgh. I don't know why so many pittsburgh fans hate Jagr. He was a more important role in Pittsburgh winning the cups than Mario. I think Hossa would be a better investment than Jagr, but as a fan i would like to see him come back to the burgh

And you lost Hossa.

This is turning retarded. Three years ago, the NHL was trying to keep player salaries down.

Well guess what? Mats Sundin might make 10 million dollars. The same shit is going to happen again. How the hell does the Rangers afford Redden.

Partially false....Lemieux is the best ever and was at the height of his career. Jagr was a talented new guy to the league. World of difference, even though they were both excellent players. The rest is spot on though. Jagr's good people, and he's every bit the player Hossa is right now (and more so).

Losing Hossa sucks, but the core of the team remains in place, and we just re-signed Malkin. I'm not really concerned....the rumors that Malkin might leave were far more unsettling, so the Pens should be fine.
