Vrix made his way over to the bed, sat on the floor. "I am sorry." He quietly and sincerely said after about a minute. "Jak brought me back, after your attempt failed, he found a way." Vrix looked distant, like he was hundreds of miles away.
"He was, I don't know I don't remember much, we were together all of us, and then you left. I tried to come with you, when you opened the way, but the path dried up, and crumbled. The bridge fell."
He looked back into his mind trying recall half images and thoughts. "I lost some memories when the way back fell apart." He stared at the bed, almost to stare holes into it. "I can't remember much. I know Jak- well Zekel, wasn't with me. I was trapped in the emptiness, between worlds- precipice."
He looked up at her, and didn't look anything like the Vrix he once was. "I woke on a trawler in the middle of the ocean."

Six months earlier...
"Ni kitu gani?"
Another voice spoke. "Sijui."
"Je, yeye hai?" The first voice spoke again.
"Yeye anapumua."
"Yeye ni uchao." One of them said sounding a little panicked.
"Bunduki." The first said. "Tayarisha chusa."
Vrix's eyes snapped open, and the hunger and thirst was the first thing he felt. The smell of these men, called to him. He could not hold back, could not control himself, his hand reached out and grabbed the nearest man, pulling him down with the cracking of bones.
Vrix's fangs pierced the mans neck, and the hot and soothing flow of blood filled his mouth. He drank quickly, just a little before he vanished stepped through the veil to appear in front of the man exiting the room in a panic, the men in the hallway screamed as he killed the frightened man casually.
"Pepo!" Some of them screamed....

Vrix trailed into silence. He had killed them all by the time he had reached land, and had drank their blood feverishly. The hunger hadn't been quelled. He shook his head. "Thats all I remember. Jak... I don't know."

Infernus lost patience and walked away from Alexander and the voice. he took note that the halls were now empty, well it seemed empty. he could smell the people hiding as he walked down the hall. 'good,' he thought 'they should fear me. oh how this place screams for a slaughter of the millenia. in time...' he looked around until he found the room he was looking for. he stopped and smiled, knocking on the door.
Benjii quietly jumped to his feet and walked to the door. as he laid a hand on the door knob, Infernus kicked it in, knocking Benjii to the floor.
Infernus walked past Benjii and looked towards Cole's room "so they're in there. maybe we should go wake them." Benjii grunted as he stood up, brushing hisself off "oh like kicking in the door wasn't loud enough to wake them?"
Infernus smiled and took a step towards the two before Benjii jumped onto his back and wrapped his arms around his neck. Infernus shouted in surprise and grabbed Benjii's arms, squeezing them until he heard bones cracking. as Benjii lost grip, Infernus threw him over his shoulder and out a window. satisfied, Infernus walked over to the closed door and knocked "someone's still a little shy, isn't she"
Vrix slowly shook his head. "I don't know." He climbed onto the bed, and sat there, looking at his ex lover. "The memories I have are hazy, and unclear. I remember you."
He looked into her eyes. "I clearly remember you. I sharply remember our fight on that cliff face in the mud, and storm. But I can't remember seeing past your face looking down on me as I fell. I came here to kill you. As I had done in the past," he removed his sword from it's sheaf within his longcoat, "but when I finally saw you, I remembered something." He ran his hand along the blade edge, letting the silver burn into his hand drawing blood.
"Infernus stay back!" Steph screamed. "Dont you dare come near us!" She moved to the farthest corner of the room, using her body to shield her daughter in case he broke through.
Kiki's warm smile slowly faded as he spoke. And when he reached for his sword, her heart sank. "Vrix what are you doing.." He cut his hand. "Vrix what are you doing? Youre speaking in riddles. Maybe you need some rest."
Benjii opened his eyes and quickly took in a deep breath, blinking as he stood up. "not even drunk and I go out a window...bastard."
Infernus smiled as he grabbed the doorknob and turned it, his smile turning to a grin as the door clicked and opened. he stepped in and looked at Steph protecting Cole. "my my, look at how both of you have grown but you don't look too good Steph. guess Benjii likes his girls sick. but our daughter seems to be growing big and strong."
Infernus rose to his feet, laughing a little. "going to let her find out on her own as to who i am, what i am, and what she may be? how does Benjii put up with someone as stubborn as you.
Benjii snuck up behind Infernus, holding a broken piece of the door that was kicked in. "one: i love her!" he swung and hit Infernus in the back of his head, smiling at the sickening thump it made, "two: i shared a body with you for many years so i had to learn patience."
Infernus shook his head and rubbed the spot where he was just hit. he spun around in time to see Benjii sigh and drop the piece of door. he smiled at Benjii and shook his head in mock disappoint ment "i just want to speak to my daughter."
From out in the hallway, a squad of security personnel made their quiet approach, armed to the teeth. The squad leader had his men spread to either side of the hall and raised his own weapon. The hallway was dark, but that didn't perturb the man. Silently he moved to the kicked in doorway, hastened by the scream of Steph. He nodded, as security personnel took positions ready for the breach. A runner had already been sent to the princess, but he wouldn't get there in time.
By now, using his senses he could tell where everyone was within the apartment, and who. But he had already knew it would be Infernus. They had been giving him a wide berth, but the person he had killed earlier was on their protection list. But as per their orders they left him be. This here- was overstepping his welcome somewhat. Over the com in his ear he heard confirmation that the sniper squad was in position on the building opposite.
Comm: "In position awaiting green light."
On his fingers he counted down from five, did a quick check to make sure the knock-out crystals were with him, he wasn't sure what use they'd be on Infernus... but hey! He'd already resigned himself to death.
Four. One finger less. He could hear the whimpering murmurs from within, and he knew there were children involved.

"M'lady, I have an urgent message from security for you."
