Vrix, his arms folded and his eyes closed, was leaning against the near-by wall. He sensed when Benji awoke and his ice-blue eyes snapped open and engulfed the room at large. With a curious frown, he looked over towards the couch Benji had been sleeping on.
The ancient man was covered in dust, both the fluffy kind, and dust from where the building had been damaged during an old battle. To Vrix he looked pretty much as you would if you had been asleep for over a year in the same place.
The room was torn and debris and dust littered the area, where there had been glass windows overlooking the city, was now a collapsed ceiling.
When Benji spoke, Vrix responded. "So you are finally awake." He said leaning forward away from the wall, with half a grin.
Vrix was wearing a black jumpsuit and light flack-vest, upon which a tactically equipped sub-machine gun hung from a strap, a pistol at his hip. He also had a sword sheathed at an angle on his back.
"Well," Vrix began as he took a step forwards, "I'd say you missed one, but somehow you managed to sleep through a dozen." He chuckled. "I mean I've heard of power naps, Benj'. But a year is ridiculous."
He offered his hand towards Benji. "But," he continued, "I had a feeling you'd be waking up now. So I dropped by."
A slight breeze could be heard whistling between the cracks of the crumbling skyscraper.
"It wasn't Infernus, or," he hesitated, "not completely." Vrix sighed as he looked over the room, and then turned around and walked towards the open door way with a surprisingly intact door. It had been a long year, fighting, many were lost.
He continued his explanation. "A Vampire sect that was controlling the humans without anyone realising, had the humans rise up against us. They attacked before we knew what was happening the tower was overrun. Their weapons designed to take down a Vampir quickly and effortlessly." His eyes were distant as he recounted the events when they lost this tower. "The Queen disappeared, and those of us remaining struck back."
Vrix glanced back into the room. "The war the humans raged against us was only the beginning. The city fell into chaos, and soon this happened..." When he stepped into the remains of the hallway that was open to the sunlight at one end, and waved his hand to encompass a seemingly deserted and destroyed city.
"The rogue sect against the queen created hybrid human soldiers, and mutations and sent them next. Can you not smell them the unclean. Their mutated flesh poison to us. Mindless creatures spread the mutation to the humans tricked into fighting us, The humans soon were fighting them selves, and we could only watch."
He began to walk to the end of the hallway. "Some are still down there. humans and creatures alike. But there are several other cities just like this. This sect wasn't fighting us, they wanted to kill the humans too."
"Smell it? The only thing I can smell at the moment is the ten inch thick layer of dust coating me." He began to dust his arms and legs off but stopped, looking at Vrix with a look mixed with worry and fear. His body shaking, he slowly walked towards Vrix. "You said the queen disappeared...what about my family? What became of them?"
Infernus walked up the ruined stairs, keeping his sounds muted. Last time he was here he barely survived an attack by whatever those things were. 'The tower is safe my ass,' he thought to his self, 'couldn't even save her own people. What a queen.'
Vrix half heartedly smiled, and grimaced all at once. "Steph? And her child?" He asked after several moments of trying to remember who they were, it had been over a year, and even longer before that where he himself had been absent.

'You really shouldn't leave you mind open like that,' a voice replied inside his head then laughed, 'makes it too easy to annoy you.' The voice smiled, or it sounded like it smiled, the voice didn't currently have a physical form and thus could not have really smiled.
'Besides, what would my poor mother think if she could hear you think ill of her.'
Benjii growled a little, his upper lip twitching. "She is my daughter as well! My daughter...my blood. If anything happened to her and Steph, I don't know what I would do..." He gave a start as what sounded like someone shouting and metal ringing.
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!" Infernus shouted, slamming a fist down onto the stair's railing. The metal broke free from the wall and hit the steps with a loud clang. Swearing, he calmed down but just a little. "She speaks ill of me all the time. Claimed that I'm obsessed with killing and can't control my temper. Besides, for all we know, she's dead. Now be useful and go annoy someone else." He stopped on the stair's landing, carefully looking out into the hallway.
Vrix took one step back, towards the edge of the hallway, and a high-drop. "Of course, she is your daughter, I didn't know that. I am sorry." He reached out and grabbed Benji's shoulder, in an effort to calm him. "Benji, I haven't seen them since... They were with Kiki, and I haven't seen the Queen since that day. That was over a year ago."
Vrix froze when he heard the sound of clanging metal, and a growling shout echoing up from the stairwell.

Inaudiable to anyone listening, Jon responded. 'I don't know anyone else easier to annoy. You're just so much fun. Now do you mind not shouting,' Jon said, 'you're giving me a headache.'
Benjii sighed and relaxed a bit, staring down the whole. "Don't worry, it's only Infernus...I think." He listened to the hybrid down the hall, confusion showing on his face. "Is he talking to his self? I can't hear anyone else besides him."
"I'm giving you a headache? I'M giving YOU a headache?!" Infernus shouted, turning back to the stairway. "Listen you annoying shit, you have no idea what a headache is. Just be happy you aren't here physically or I would personally hand you over to those blasphemous failures out there."
"Sounds like it?" Vrix smiled. "I-" He froze again and tilted his head to one side, seconds later he glanced at Benji, and then Infernus. "Something has disturbed the nest near the bottom of this tower, the creatures I mentioned are on their way up here."
(When they arrive feel free to describe the most horrifying creature ever)

'But it's nice and warm in here.' Jon began laughing softly. 'Now shut-up, before you give yourself a headache.'
Oh I have something in mind)
Benjii looked around as if seeing the creatures already. "Not even fully awake and I already have to fight. Damn it." He looked down the hall, shouting "Infernu! Get over here!"
"I already have one...one that has been around for a year." Infernus was about to continue when he heard someone yelling for him. "Well, he's awake, lazy bastard." Smiling, he walked into the hallway, staring at Benjii and Vrix. "Well hello there."
