Vrix lay unconscious in one of the recovery rooms. Life support machines beeping happily away to themselves.
Vrix was stitched up and bandaged tight, the doctors had worked tirelessly for over fourteen hour, and in the end they namaged to remove the majority of the silver pieces, but they were damned hard to locate, and cause even more damage by removing them.
Still, the doctor wasn't entirely sure they had gotten all the tiny fragments, but it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
There was probably some fragments still drifting around his blood vessels or elsewhere, but they had done their best, for now.
Zekelaz was perched on the edge of the chair looking down at, for all intents and purposes- his father. "You should not have come back so soon. You are still not yourself. And that little stunt you pulled..." Zeke smiled.

Odihiru finished the report and had handed it into the Captain. It was early hours of his shift, and he poured himself a cup of coffee to help awake his senses. He had received reports of the nights incident at the tower that morning. Some kind of explosive had gone off at around seven in the morning, around dawn, wounding two members of the towers guard.
He knew himself that the towers guard were down almost sixteen personnel since last night. It was strange, all these Vampires would return at this one time.
"Happy New year, lieutenant." One of the officers passed a small shot-bottle of rum through the door, bringing Odihiru our of his reverie. "And to you." He said and gladly accepted the bottle.
Looking quickly over the label he dumped the lot into the coffee. "Happy New year." He walked from the coffee machine and sat down behind the desk where a stack of files await him. It was going to be a long day.
Kiki sat up straight as one of the doctors rushed into her room. He hurried to her side and whispered something into her ear. "A..Are you sure? Have you tried everything?" "Yes.. Im sorry, my lady." He bowed his head. Kiki looked at Steph and Cole as they sept. "...Thank you Doctor.. Let me know if anything changes."
"A coma? Benjii...? How?" Infernus felt confusion rise inside. 'It's that disembodied voice...it wants this to happen!' He raised a fist, ready to bring it down on Kiki's desk before he realized what he was doing. He lowered his fist slowly and looked at Steph and Cole. "Is there any way they can bring him out of it...for their sake? Steph finally got her husband back and Cole her father...only to lose him again."
Kiki's eye twitched. "No. Your return did nothing. You KILLING one of my employees brought the attack upon yourself. Along with breaking and entering, and throwing Benjii out the window, and threatening his family. The return of you, Vrix, and Benjii has done nothing but cause trouble and give me a headache. Who do you think pays for all the repairs? Who do you think has to inform the families of the fallen me that their husbands or brothers are dead? WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH EVERY DAMN PROBLEM THAT COMES HER WAY?! I do. I have to pay those repairs, which cuts pay from my employees. I also have to pay for Benjii and Vrix's operation because god knows Steph cannot! You three have done nothing but give me one big headache since your arrival." She growled.
Steph woke from Kiki's raised voice. She did not open her eyes, but she did listen to what was being said.
Infernus smiled, knowing he hit a nerve and that the attention left his previous attitude. "The Great Kiki can't take stress like she once could. Who cares about their families and pay? Who cares about the operations on Benjii and Vrix? Doubt Benjii will wake up anyway from the sounds of it! By the way, I did no such thing as threaten the mother and daughter. Throw Benjii out the windowbreaking and entering, yes. Threaten, no. You of all people should know by now that i have no need to threaten anyone, immortal or mortal."
"Watch yourself Infernus! I dont have to let you remain here. You have no idea what I am forced to deal with. Steph is already dying and there is no way I can save her. The child doesnt need to loose both parents.. Im doing my best here and for once it isnt enough. Consider that before you try to change the subject." She looked back down to her reports.
Infernus glared as his lip twitched. "I'm not the only one who needs to watch themself. Now, what do you mean Steph is dying?" Infernus blinked as he remembered something from years ago, from the time he was part of Benjii. "She still isn't feeding is she? Have you tied her down and forced her to do it? Also, if anything happens to Steph, I'll take care of Cole until Benjii wakes up."
