Living in the past.....

Started by dadudemon6 pages

I would take with me a seemingly god-like store of knowledge in my own brain. Invent whatever I needed to be comfortable.....

Manufacturing processes, chemistry (THIS right here does MUCH more for all of our "modern" technologies" than you'd think), automation, production models from all climes of industry, philosophy, history, battery technology, engergy production, mechanical engineering, current knowledge on astro- and quantum physics, and anything else that gives me my modern world.

With these knowledges, I could educate, employ, invent, and modernize the world in a much better way. I would skip over fossil fuels altogether, of course.

First, I would have to build and maintain a very large electrical source. Then I could work on producing the various materials with my production and chemical knowledges, I would then use these materials to manufacture tools and various other useful items that I could use to continue the modernization of my world. This would be in conjunction with the greatest minds I could gather. They would all be serving as my apprentices. They, intern, could further the processes independent of my own in a cascading effect. Progress would be geometric.

As you can see, knowledge is all that is needed. No items are necessary. Knowledge IS power.

One may ask, "but what about funding or all of this?" Bah! Not necessary. A quick invention of a novel yet usable item could quickly generate revenue and then there is the simple procurement of funding from the upper class and business investors of the time. Small demonstrations of useful technologies to a country would most likely endear those in power to invest in my endeavors.

"What about the largely theological driven/ruled life of the time?" BAH! Easily overcome with a sharp tongue and employment of whit. I can talk myself out of plenty of scenarios.

Knowledge isn't a luxury item or an invention 😂

Tell that to a poor person who can't get an education.

Thought of that already. 313. Remember the "religion" part I mentioned? 313

pwnt 😄

With my oration skills, I could turn the tables on you and make it seem like you were desecrating beautiful God inspired creations. Citing scripture, of course. (I assume this would be Europe or the Americas.)

Lets say you were foeced to travel back in time and live the rest of your life there, lets say 1700 A.D......what ONE modern luxury/invention would you take with you? It can be anything from your cell phone to the internet.

It would be easier to scare people and confuse/wow them, all in all it would be easier for me to control the world and recreate it. (Multitasking)

Also you could warn people in advance about the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

Uhh.....I REALLY REALLY liked the star wars prequel trilogy. I liked it BETTER than the original trilogy.

Why doth thou laugh?

I will sic the lady in my avatar after you to bite of your nuts with her black fluid diseased mouth.

Just dangle a pack of crack in front of her and all will be well, like that of a cat with a ball of yarn.

Ergo opinions come in different forms.

I am DEFINITELY a minority when it comes to this, though. I will quickly admit that.

I am a Star Wars nerd. I do not "cosplay" or collect items. I do not do that with anything I am a fan of...except electronics.

it still doesn't make it a luxury ITEM or INVENTION just cause the person is poor 😕 😆,

Knowledge wasn't invented nor is it an item 😂

Fact, not opinion.

All you have to do is look at the acting. 😛

I think you are looking at the term "luxuary item" as always being something tangible. A luxury item can be something abstract...such as knowledge. 😉

Wat...you are agreeing with me now. 😛

Yeah but I'm sure the thread maker was meaning something we could take that is an object, which knowledge is not 😂 I could be wrong but I think that is how most people would have read the question 😕 😂

If I was going to 1700 C.E., I'd just take a bunch of books that haven't written yet. Because I like books.

I don't need technology, especially when I'm going back to the 1700s. ermjuggler

then claim that you wrote the books yourself 😖hifty: and you would go down as one of the greatest minds along with others such as DaVinci and Michelangelo😖hifty: its such a sleekit plan 🙂
