People, stop underrating Thor.
Thor could take Superman in combat easily. Thor is just as strong as Superman, if not stronger. He was given the strength of his mother, Gaea, and Odin's own strength. He doesn't use his strength outside of battle often, but when in battle, he's a powerhouse. When he and Odin fought Surtur, Thor was strong enough to lift Twilight, (Surtur's sword.) For those of you who didn't know, Twilight was forged from the matter of a white dwarf star, and easily weighed as much as the sun itself. Summoning all of his strength, Thor was strong enough to lift Twilight over his head, and hurl it.
Don't underestimate the God-blast, either. In Thor #161, Thor was forced to unleash the god-blast against Galactus. Already weakened from hunger, Galactus is forced to retreat into space. Imagine what that kind of power would do to Superman, considering that magic is his weakness.
Thor does have superspeed.
During Blood and Thunder, while observing Thor in battle, Adam Warlock says that Thor is "as fast as the lightning he commands!" Adam isn't known to hyperbolize. Lightning travels at about 18,940 miles per second in earth's atmosphere. Thor is easily as fast as Superman. In hand to hand combat, he's likely faster.
Thor has god-like reflexes as well.
Thor once blocked one of the Phoenix's psi-bolts (which travels faster than the speed of thought) with his hammer, and bounced it right back at her in Thor #428. No hammer-spinning, just reflexes.
The narration says "A telepathic bolt of unmentionable fury instantly races toward the still groggy Avenger! But then, with [i]reflexes[i] honed in a thousand battles, the mighty Thor instinctively raises his hammer!"
The psi-bolt was about two feet in front of his face before he raised his hammer, and Thor was disorientated when Phoenix attacked him. Superman wouldn't be able to speedblitz Thor; his reflexes are godly. If Superman, rushes in, he would likely get smacked in the face with Mjolnir. Even without magic, Thor's more than a match for Superman physically. Magic would just seal the deal.
