What? Yeah, King Thor would beat Superman. There's no question about that, but Superman/Thor being 50/50 is crazy. The problem for Thor is his strength and durability aren't even close to Superman's, and then there's his biggest problem: Superman's HUGE speed advantage. With PIS/CIS aside, Thor shouldn't even be able to touch Superman before he's KO'ed. Granted that's not how forum fights usually work, but even still I'd give Superman AT LEAST a 7.5/10 edge over Thor. (Pre Reboot Superman of course).

Just because writers do, there's no way DC's editors will ever let Thor beat Superman. Hell the way things are going with Thor currently, I doubt MARVEL'S editors would let Thor win!

Superman has lost fights plenty of times, don't get what you mean by all of this. Superman lost in a crossover as well. Writers have different views on these characters.

Hulk and Superman fought on more than one occasion and their last fight (minus the voted fight), Superman didn't look so good against him.

Some writers have different perspectives on the outcome of a fight between Thor and Supes. Me personally, I would give Superman the edge if I was writing the story but that doesn't mean that other people or writers think any different than what I think. Based on what? Oh, you think Superman is WEAK to magic, when actually he's simply VULNERABLE to it. (just like Thor and the Silver Surfer are). Besides which, PIS/CIS aside Thor's not even hitting Superman anyway.
Also, 1 hammer strike has knocked out Thor more than anyone else lately. It's more likely that Thor is going to get one shot by Superman grabbing his arm that's holding his hammer and hitting him in the face with it
