man i bet your jaw still hurts from sucking off capcom for there marvel vs capcom game back in the day. dont hate the mk vs dc game till you play it. i guarantee every one would bust a nut if this ended up mk vs sf. but yet when midway tries a alternative route ppl *****. it makes me sick that so many people get there tighty whites in a bunch about mk vs dc but yet sf vs marvel was like sex to you haters

Well the game had originality in the gameplay and graphic departments, which this game most likely lacks.

And what the heck...? Since when was MK a wannabe SF? Back in the early 90s, there was plenty of fighting games competing with SF and the majority of them were considered clones simply for being similar. Guess which game was an exception? Mortal Kombat. Why? I don't think I even NEED to explain that.

Uh... No. I think MK went low by mimicking Capcom and making MK vs. DC. The whole MvsSF series was great. I wish they'd make another game in the series.
If there was no Street Fighter, there would be no MK. They admittedly profited from Street Fighters success. If they aren't SF wannabe's they sure are making themselves look like it by making this game. Yes I know, SNK is a SF wannabe too.
DC seems to like licensing their characters to crappy developers. It's their fault.

Just because they made a game with the same concept, they're mimicking them? You gotta do more than just look at the idea the game, like actually playing it.
Ever heard of the word "inspiration"? Alot of things these days are inspired by other things. SF's success inspired many series, that doesn't mean they're copying Street Fighter. Heck, some of the features in the SF games are inspired by anime/manga stuff (like HNK). See? There's a difference between "inspiration" and "copying". And no, SNK is not a wannabe. It was heavily influenced by SF back in the day but you can't say that about them now.

Maybe you're right. I will probably end up playing it at some point. I'm just saying that my expectations are rather low, so if it ends up sucking, I wouldn't be surprised.
There's a thin line between being heavily inspired by a series and mimicking the series. What MK is doing is stepping over that line.
SNK is the definitive SF wannabe. I'm surprised they didn't beat Midway to the punch and make SNK vs. DC.
I know Midway isn't a crappy developer. It's called psychological conditioning. Every time I see the DC logo on a game's box I cringe. 🙁

There are some undenying differences with SNK. You don't hear people calling their games "SF ripoffs" nowadays and despite the similarities, people don't even consider their older fighting games as such either.

I see. I definitely see this in the last three fighting games but I just don't see this MKvs.DC. They seem to have improve on the animation part. Mixing up combos in this game seems to be much easier based on the videos.

Just because you don't like the games, the series should die? If games like SF, KOF, Tekken, VF, DOA, and GG ain't dead then I don't see why MK should.

Because they done better in sales. DOA may die because of it's creator Itagaki leaving Tecmo.
