There's been alot of MK tournaments (especially MK2 online tournaments) and if there's any game that's overrated, it's Street Fighter. SF3 only got to where it is today just because some guy parried combo back in 04, that's it. At least MK made some notable changes in it's system and whoever consider the 3D games the "laughing stock of fighting game genre" are just a bunch of idiot haters. At least MK actually put some effort to change their system and made a much bigger leap while many of the SF games hardly ever made much of a change leading up to SF3 (the real Halo of fighting games).

Name a recent tournament an MK game has been in, and not some pissant small ass tournament no one has ever heard of, a BIG tournament.
SF has twice the gameplay of ANY MK game. MK gameplay is overtly simplistic, you can do any move easily and efficiently, SF takes skill.
SF is the archtype of fighting games, it is an icon, MK is the joke.
Saying SF is the Halo of fighting games is like saying Superman is the Halo(LOL WUT) of superheroes.
