As much as I don't like Pikachu, I don't play the Smash Bros. game just to beat him to a pulp. As much as I don't like Shang Tsung, I don't play the MK games just to perform fatalities on him.

I might can accept that reason because that's different from wanting to kill him just because they think he sucks or boring or something like that. But still if killing Darth Vader is the ONLY reason for playing the game, then I find that ridiculous.

i'm just saying, its a fictitious character...,who cares? I am sure he was being most sarcastic in saying that he wants to play the game just to kill superman. If not, even then, i can understand it. To me it is to the same effect of people hating Santa Clause. They may not necessarily hate his intentions or character, but after having him shoved down their throat every season and know him only as an icon of imposing debt and depression. All for money hungry corporations. They grow a very strong disdain for him. I love Superman, hate the comics and hate the fanboys. If you told me that i could play a video game where superman burns holes through santa clause with his heat vision. I'd rent the game on that alone.

I hope Doomsday appears in the game.....

As far as this game goes, I feel that MK is too stiff a fighting engine for many of the DC characters,

And that's exactly the problem. You'd throw away money JUST to do that? This is what I'm talking about. The fact that you would even go that far just to do this one pointless thing shows that you got serious issues. You play a game to have fun, to explore, to discover everything, to learn more about it, not getting a thrill out of killing certain character you hold a grudge against for no reason. The game's got too many things for that. If you know that he's a fictional character so why are you even worrying about that in the first place? It's a waste of time and money.

😂 i waste money on renting countless games a year that are marketed as being fresh, innovative and entertaining, but only turn out to be broken pieces of redundancy with no creative direction. If i heard there was a game where you kill Santa clause ( If i am going to analyze my curiosity to play the game) the curiosity that would drive me to looking into the game would not be out of having a grudge. It would be because that idea strikes a cord with my more morbid and cynical sense of humor. I would immediately research the game and see if it is truly a game worth playing. I was being facetious when i said i would play this hypothetical game on that merit alone. Besides, even if i weren't it should not be a problem in the slightest. It would be my money and time that i am devoting to the game. If the idea of killing Santa Clause is fun to me, that is not very different than playing GTA to beat ho's and run people over. Killing is fun, look at FPS games. Many of them are all the same formula, they control the exact same way and have very similar stories that justify killing what ever it is you're killing.

Thinking it's fun to kill a certain character is a very sick sense of humor, if you ask me, especially if you wanna do it in a very gruesome way. I find no point in that at all. In FPS games, sometimes killing somebody is the only the way. It's just to survive. That's different from only being interested in killing just one character.

It's just it's a rather cruel humor to wanting to do that (especially if they're iconic figures) and that's why I'm not for that. Stuff like that is what I don't like. Humor can go too far at times and that's how I feel about this.

Self defense or not you are still playing an FPS to kill people. It wouldnt be very fun if instead of plasma and assault rifles Master Chief used a paintball gun.

I guess sometimes people just get it and some people dont. It reminds me of people whom flame shows like south park for being overly graphic and crude. Most of the times it is simply a case of them not understanding the humor.

Nope, not at all. If there's any reason I would be satisfied of beating a character is because I get them back for beating me prior to that (which usually means they're pretty challenging).

Even IF you don't have any hatred towards Superman, it's still a very unusual reason to enjoy killing him. I mean "I want to kill him because he's a stupid character". Sorry that's still not good enough. Your own dislike for the character still plays in the reason why you want to kill him and to be honest, that still sounds like hatred to me.

It is a video game, i do not see why wanting to see scorpion murder superman is hatred. Why else would midway be doing this integration? It is a complete off the wall idea, one that many people often debate and fantasize about amongst friends. you are seeing something new. When lobo went to heaven and murdered angels, when writers make parody comics depicting santa clause going nuts on a murderous rampage, the writers are expressing hatred? It is seeing something that you would never see before. It is one of the basic formula's of humor...,mashing two mediums or scenario's together in a humorous manner that are at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

I hear Mortal kombat 8 is going to be DC vs the mortal Kombat universe. I know nothing about the gameplay, but im already interested in playing it, because its something ridiculous and fresh. I hear the next conquer game is going to feature conquer killing fairy tale creatures. I am interested because it's so bizarre and knowing the writers, could offer much cynical humor. To me, its just a video game. It isnt like the dude was talking about re- designing doom to feature avatars of black people in place of demons.

these are fictitious characters. Their existence are there to offer entertainment and inspire emotion. People dont hate just to hate. If you hate one of these particular characters. There is a reason for it. I also think we are using the word hate to liberally. in these instances i believe the emotion expressed is more closely related to annoyance or dislike.
